My boyfriend and I stayed at Le Chat Bleu for 2 nights. All I can say is I was so unbelievably impressed with everything! We stayed in the Bleue room and it was so lovely and relaxing. The bed was so comfortable and we both slept really well. We also had the English breakfast one morning and Jane's amazing pancakes the next. It was so worth the money as all the food was cooked to perfection, really delicious and a wide range of choice were available on both mornings. The bathroom was modern and very clean and the shower was brilliant. Finally, Jane went out of her way to make us feel welcome and she honestly couldn't have been a nicer, kinder and more helpful host. We would 100% recommend Le Chat Bleu to anyone as I know you'll be just as impressed as I was. We would definitely love to stay here again. 

Definitely one of the best places I've ever stayed in! 

We stayed here for a night last weekend. We received such a warm welcome along with a cold beer at the bar, both just what we needed after a day of driving. We then had a little sleep before our meal that we had arranged with Jane beforehand. The evening meal was fantastic, French onion soup with crispy French stick, slow cooked pork with roasted vegetables, lovely fruity desert then a selection of french cheeses with biscuits! All washed down with red wine. The perfect end to a long day. We slept so well, the b&b is in a nice quiet location but pretty central in a wonderful little village. I wish we could have stayed longer so we could have done some exploring. We definitely plan to re visit this beautiful place. Thanks so much Jane and Paul, we cannot fault a thing!

The perfect place for a stopover.

Le Chat Bleu (The Blue Cat) is in the centre of a quite village, from the outside the house is immediately appealing. The owners told us it was originally a small hotel and then a village bar. Evidence of this bar heritage can be seen in the guest’s lounge/breakfast room as the bar it’s self has been left in situ complete with beer pumps and coffee machine. It feels like your own private French Cafe bar.                               
Our room was very well appointed; we stayed in the ‘Rose Room’ a romantic, clean and airy room with views of the rear garden. Although this room is not en suite the shower was literally a step away and what a posh shower it is!! I took a peek at the other rooms and they all seemed be to the same high standard. Outside there is  a nice walled garden, great to sit in with a glass of wine, beyond is a lawn going down to a small stream.
Breakfast is a fine French one with fresh baguettes from the village boulangerie, Jane will do you a full English for a little extra.
Paul and Jane were super hosts, they made us feel very welcome and told us about local sites of interest and suggested a number of nice bike rides from the house. They have few bikes you can borrow. 
The blue cat is about an hour and half from St Malo so an easy drive from the ferry. A few miles away is the town of Rostrenen a typical Bretagne town with bars, restaurants and a very good weekly market. This B&B is well situated to explore both south and west to the Atlantic coast and east into central Brittany.
I would not hesitate to recommend this friendly, attractive, clean and well priced B&B.

You won’t get the blues here.... even if the cat is.

At 10º outside, it was a whole 20º warmer than the week before, so I guess we picked the right week! The welcome inside was even warmer. The room was beautifully presented - it must have been as my wife said so and she is the hard one to please. We opted to have dinner as well and it was a good move. I can honestly say that Jane served up the best ratatouille I've ever come across and her chouriço spaghetti was delicious: perfectly cooked and al dente as it should be. If you need a room in Central Brittany, Le Chat Bleu should be right up there on your list.

A Warm Welcome

Looked nice on Internet, but very dated and basic, nothing open in the evenings in the village,lovely hosts very accommodating, the area is extremely quiet although within a10/15 minute drive there are lots of walks, not a place to go if you like a bit of night life
