Very cosy, unusual and very clean place.
Very friendly staff. Ideal for regenerating and taking walks (as well as many other activities) in the Champdray forest. Our tree cabin was warm, very well built and shaped like a Hobbit house. Also fun and unusual are the dinner and breakfast that are hoisted into a basket from the balcony with a rope. We will definitely return.

Regeneration in the forest

My wife and I live in Mulhouse and have wanted to stay at the Nids Des Vosges for quite sometime.  We reserved many months ago for the Observatoire, which is the highest one at 12 meters.  It only sleeps 2 persons and there is no shower(the shower next to the office is available), but there is a toilet.  We stayed last Saturday night, September 7th, 2019 for one night.  We used the sauna Saturday night and it was fine.  The room was clean, the food was good, and we paid 20 Euros extra for a half bottle of champagne.  All in all an excellent experience and we will come back with the extended family(14 of us) next May for my 60th birthday.  We will rent the 2 deluxe rooms which sleep 6 and 8 persons.  Yvan and Francois are the owners and do most of the work themselves.  They came up with the idea, had the tree houses built by a company that specializes in such construction, and now run a tight ship, 365 days per year.  We had a great time and can't wait to go back.

Had a little Vosges escape with our kids (7 and 9) and had a wonderful 2 nights.  A bit of a mix up in the reservation, (tip: maybe call to make sure all is reserved), we ended up staying in two different treehouses, giving us 2 very different experiences in the trees!  First night was in the 'Avancée Nature' with all the luxury and conveniences (i.e. plumbing, dishwasher and lots of space for the kids in the loft).  Our second night was in the vision forêt which was a dream (although tight with the 2 girls, it was doable).

We can only recommend this great little spot, and combined with activities such as swimming and pedal boats on Gerardmer, a lovely local garden (pricey but lovely), and lovely walks with many wild blueberry bushes!

We'd definitely like to try the "Double" or the "Fun" next time round.

ONE curiousity :  they don't deliver croissants for the kids (response was that they children don't care for them much), but not in our family (and my kids are half Frency), so ask if all members of the fam. can have one, even if you pay. (because there is no supplement for kids who are with the parents to stay).  Oh - yes orderd the "traiteur's" dinner.  Really nice - liked the Gratin de Munster better than the Paté Lorainne.

The treehouse was great. Every sort of modern comfort was available: even a dishwasher. We had quite a big treehouse (8 people) for the four of us and were very happy we booked such a big one: with 8 it would we overcrowded (little storage space). We loved the hot tub on the terrace, the breakfast with really good bread,...

Amazing weekend gateway with the kids

Excellent location, great landscape and splendid cabins.
Nevertheless, our six-person cabin was just big enough for two.
Finally, the brakfast was really poor (even for France) with just a croissant and a half baguette with some honey and marmelade. A pity for a region so rich in local specialties.

We had a lovely experience. The house was amazing, all in wood, warm, amazing view. In a place like this, and for the big price you pay for, we were expecting a better service though. The place is dirty, very dusty, plates and glasses in the kitchen were not well cleaned, and we were not even left with a proper hoover or so to clean it ourselves. The worse was the food: terrible. It’s a pity because with these improvements the experience would have been absolutely amazing!
