Great location on the Island with very easy access to many bike routes. Super friendly staff, both in reception and in the bar who kindly sorted out England football  on the TV in the bar for us to watch! Good pool area, although we didn't use it.

Great site

Lovely staff, clean amenities, great pitch, close to everything. Had a little noise from a close by tent late one night which the security guard sorted out with no one asking. Really couldn’t have asked for better.

Wonderful campsite

The facilities at Campiotel des Dunes are immaculate and every aspect for a relaxing holiday have been well considered.
The shower blocks are excellent with plenty of room to change, nice clean outdoor washing up sinks with plenty of hot water and good laundry facilities. Credit must be given to the outstanding standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout.
The pool and its surrounding terrace is a great place to relax at end the day after exploring the nearby woodland and wide sandy beaches or cycling through the Marais and Nature Reserve.  Very competitively priced cycle hire is thoughtfully provided on site. 
The nearby village of Ars en Re has a good range of shops, cafés, restaurants, galleries and wonderful harbour-side walks. 
The camping pitches are shaded and have good surrounding vegetation and electrical hook ups if required.  The new bar and cafe is a great convenience. Madame Barbotin and her family are continually investing in the latest chalets and cabins, including the CoCo Sweet tent-chalets, which are great.
A very peaceful location and a great place to be based for many island adventures. Thank you for another wonderful holiday.

the "premium" mobile homes were squashed far too close together.  The mobile homes on the outside facing the forest were better spaced but the inner ones were ridiculously close, completely unacceptable at this price point

We were camping with a ten.

Pros:
Very, very clean facilities.
Spacious pitches.
Plenty of shade.
Lovely pool.
Plentiful supply of very hot water. 
Supermarket 800 mtrs away.
Well stocked bike hire facility.
Excellent, if rather overpriced, pizzas.
Lovely 20 minute stroll through vineyards to Ars-en-Re and its lively daily market or through a forest to the beach (at low tide it is rock pool heaven!)

Cons:
Traffic noise from road, more noticeable at night.
No hand washing facilities in toilet blocks (but strangely there are potable water stands directly outside the blocks that people were seen using to wash hands after using the toilets, which is not particularly hygienic).
No bins in toilet cubicles for feminine hygiene use. 

Great little site

Went to this camp-site for the second time; rented the Mobile Home (PMR) with disabled facilities.
Master bedroom, bathroom, & kitchen/living area all spaceous enough for wheelchair. FIrst year we stayed, bed was very small (140x190). Second time we asked the owner for a larger bed and if it would be possible to have a fixed 'veranda' at the mobile-home (due to location in sun). When we came: 160x200cm bed was placed and a 'veranda' was installed. Campsite is clean, nice pool with bar (with drink, snacks and (simple) take-away meals). Beautifull surroundings, small cities and much more.

Great Holiday, friendly people

We've been 3 times to this campsite in the last 4 years.  Ile de Re is one of our favourite places, especially the far north western part of the island, including and beyond Ars-en-Re.

The campsite has great facilities. It is relatively small and intimate, and the family who own it are friendly and helpful. For us its hidden secret is the walk through the pine forest and dunes to a fantastic, isolated long beach - La Cote Sauvage. As the name suggests it can be wild and windswept, but also a great place to spend a warm summer's afternoon and body board in the sea.

Our 3rd visit to Campiotel des Dunes

I had a touring pitch and they are very cramped and close together. You don’t have any feeling of space. Everything is crammed in. The camping pitches are a kind of dirty sand which isn’t very nice when it rains. Facilitates are extremely basic but the staff do keep the facilities clean. The facilities are clean. There are toilet seats on the toilets and there is loo roll - but nowhere to wash your hands which is a bit strange. Staff are friendly enough. The location is brilliant - very close to the lovely town of Arse en Re which has good restaurants and a supermarket. Also a great location if you want to go cycling round the island (very close to cycle paths). There is a lovely little walk (20 mins) through a little forest to an empty beach - which is really nice.

Good location but very cramped pitches

Nice site, clean, lovely people running the site but very very noisy after 10pm until midnight. Unsupervised youngsters running wild around the site. Parents leave them on the site and go off to local restaurants etc. Site rules are everywhere suggesting absolute quiet after 10pm. This review is being written at 11pm and site restaurant is playing very loud music. We had booked for longer but have left early.
