My husband and I had the supreme pleasure of coming back to Le Sorbet, 4 years after our first visit. This time we chose the month of September when the days were still warm and Madame Fournier's garden was bearing its last fruits. Fruits and vegetables which were expertly handled to prepare one of the best French dinners we have ever had; sophistcated presentation, genuine flavours,  lovingly put together to create a wonderful alchemy of the senses. This applies to the breakfasts too! Nothing banal about them either! This time around we also had the opportunity to enjoy an aperitif in the garden, served with great care by our hostess and sipping the delectable French wine with an amazing view of the Cathedral of Bazas was an absolute joy. .Furthernore, we were pleased to notice that this lovelingly restored brick cottage is still gorgeous and impeccably furnished. Great care is employed in the  maintenance of all its parts and once again we enjoyed the picturesque location, the cosy bedroom with high wooden ceilings, the elegant furniture and the general warmth of these rooms. Madame Fournier also organized a cycling excursion for us in the nearby woods which was wonderful. As always, the professionalism, friendliness and culture of our hosts was perfect in every way. Can't wait for our third visit! All the best and thank you for a marvellous holiday in this bucolic dream of a home.

Bucolic dream

A charming place to stopover when travelling south. The bedroom and gardens are a masterclass in tasteful design with every convenience and Helene is a lovely host. This little farmhouse is in a pretty setting overlooking the cathedral of Bazas and was the perfect place to relax after a long day in the car. Magical!

Delightful chambre d'hote!

This is a beautiful and charming bed and breakfast. Every detail has been tastefully thought of when decorating and furnishing the room and bathroom. The grounds are beautiful and the view of the towns cathedral from the backyard is impressive. The host is very attentive.  Breakfast was delicious. Only drawback is that the WC is outside the bedroom, but this canbe overlooked given all the other wonderful positives.

Charming and relaxing accommodations.

We stayed overnight at Le Sorbet on a rainy, wintry January night after driving from the Pyrenees-Orientales. The house looks old and characterful from the outside but has been renovated with style internally whilst retaining old beams and exposed stone/brick. Our friendly hostess greeted us and showed us to the room 'Kaolin' which was very attractive and comfortable, with a large bed and loads of space. The shower room was great with an excellent shower. Probably one of the best shower rooms we've used in France (and we've stayed in over 85 places in France over the years!). We liked having tea and a Nespresso machine in the room. A delicious petit dejeuner was served in a cosy breakfast room with bistro tables, an ancient fireplace and exposed beams/brickwork. Our hostess was charming and friendly and recommended a couple of restaurants in Bazas for dinner. We chose L'Indigo and were not disappointed. We'd stay here again as we liked Le Sorbet very much and would like to have the chance to explore the old town of Bazas in dry, warmer weather!

Stylish, cosy and comfortable

Le sorbet has been beautifully renovated and the accomodation was excellent.Our hosts were very helpful and even did some of our washing as we were on a biking holiday.It is a bit of a walk down a secluded lane to get to the town and would not b easy for someone less able.Breakfast v homely and tasty.Our room had toilet across a corridor and bathrobes would have been welcome.
