Enjoyed a 5-night stay whilst visiting family in France.

Can highly recommend it.

Sandrine was the perfect host and Beatrice was wonderful, too.

Parfait!  Perfect!

We received a wonderful welcome from Sandrine when we arrived, a little early for the published check in. However, our rooms were ready and a secure garage made available for our two motorbikes.  The house is absolutely beautiful in a fabulous setting, the rooms large and beautifully decorated and appointed.  Bathrooms large and spotlessly clean.  Towels were provided for the lovely pool which was very welcome after a long hot ride on a motorbike from the Midi-Pyrenees.
Location is a little isolated and as we did not want to get back on the bikes to find a restaurant for the evening, Sandrine arranged a cab to take us to a very nice restaurant in the nearby town of Jonsac.  We were all, however, surprised at the cost of the taxi.
There is a wonderful history of the house, and vineyard,  which has been in the family for 7 generations.

Fabulous Stoppover on our Road Trip

All I can say is this...one of the best little inns on the planet. On the night we stayed, we had the entire chateau to ourselves, which added to our magical experience. We found the inn a perfect jumping-off point to visit the surrounding countryside. And enjoyed the grounds so much, we decided to have our own "private" dinner, consisting of the best of the french countryside (see photos).  Don't miss their le petit dejeuner.  Ask to taste their cognac (they left us the entire bottle). Beatrice was a wonderful and pleasant host, and shared some "do not miss" places for our drive back to La Rochelle later that day.  Our recommendation: Do not miss this place!

Magical place in the French countryside near Cognac

I don’t often get emotional and I did when we left here, I cannot express enough how much we loved our stay and I didn’t want to leave!
The location is easy to find, sign posted clearly off the main road.
The building is wonderful, full of history and charm set in beautiful vineyards growing grapes for Cognac.
Our room was delightful, large airy, clean and provided everything we needed for our stay.
There is a lovely swimming pool, safe for children, very warm and very relaxing.
We had three lovely meals, which were all delicious and excellent value, they also gave us the change to meet other guest and had a very ‘family meal’ feel to them.
The owners are fantastic, I have never been treated to well – the service was 5 stars.
We are already considering our next trip.

5 Star experience

Old House on Cognac Estate. Quiet with beautiful surroundings. Walk in the wine fields or hang out at the pool. Super friendly host (owner of the old family house). Car needed to travel to the location and restaurants etc. Highly recommended!
