Rouge Gazon sits high in the alpine area of Saint-Maurice-sue-Moselle. Absolutely stunning views. The food on offer is cooked and presented to very high standards. The wine list extensive and the staff are wonderful. Well worth the drive up!

Restaurant With A View

The party for New Year was so much fun with guests of all ages dancing to the local band who played their hearts out for us. The menu was delicious. The atmosphere iin the hotel is very homely you could even come down to breakfast in your slippers. We enjoyed all the meals which were rustic and generous. The hotel itself is warm, functional and ideal for families who have come to ski on the gentle slopes or walk in the mountains. There were lots of big family parties there and we would definitely like to go back with a bigger group and make the most of the special group deals. We did enjoy our stay.

A wonderful celebration for New Year 2016

We stayed here for some friends' anniversary, so we knew where we were aiming, but after arriving at St Maurice sur Moselle, even though the way is signed, it's 11km of twisty turny roads, and you'd never stumble on this place by accident!  It's clean and comfortable, the rooms are adequate in size, but as you'd expect it's not luxury, and there are no frills.  Breakfast is 'help yourself' with farmhouse produce (don't hold your breath if you're expecting croissants and baguette).  Lunch was a civilised affair with huge portions and well presented.  The staff were very accommodating, and fell over themselves to be helpful.  I can't really comment on dinner as we had a private party, not ordered from the menu, but the quality was high, with the emphasis on local dishes and produce.  It's not Michelin star quality, but it is tasty and filling.

You have to know it's there!

My friends and I spend here one night during our hiking tour in the Vosges.
The hotel has a great location, beautiful surroundings especially when there is good weather.
We received a very warm welcome. The lady at the reception even showed us our rooms. 
Rooms are being renovated. My room was not yet. The bathroom was a bit old, but the renovated bathrooms look great. Beds are a bit small and I had the impression the bed didn't stand straight. I didn't sleep very well.
Duriong dinner, the owner came for a chat with us (as he did with everybody) and he knows the world. He could talk about any subject we brought up. I could appreciate this.
Dinner itself was wonderful. A no nonsense dinner with quality ingredients, nothing fancy, but that wasn't needed. As dessert we had more cheese than we could eat. They were all very tasty, but we were not able to finish it. 
The bar closes at 11.00 at night.
Breakfast was not as varied as it has been in other hotels in the area. The choise was rather limited, but the quality was very good.
I would defnitely come back here when I'll be in the neighborhood.

Great family hotel

Tiny rooms with very poor bathroom , no shower curtain , i mentioned to the office lady how i am supposed to stop water going all over the floor  the answer was this is no problem just let it vo everywhere! Go figure that out
