This bar, which is attached to a small hotel of 12 rooms, is situated next to the River Charente. It offers seating inside and outside with a number of places right next to the river. They offer the usual array of drinks, - wines, spirits, beers - and also cocktails and champagne which arrives in a huge ( and I mean huge! ) glass. The food is very good but, and this may sound silly but it is true, their Crocque Monsieur is to die for, certainly the best which my husband and I have found throughout France! They do plates of Tapas or Amuse Bouche which are, again, delicious and beautifully presented.The waiters and the owner are helpful and friendly.  We do not hesitate to recommend this bar and hotel wholeheartedly.

A lovely bar/braserrie next to the river.

Four nights here were good. Comfy bed, excellent bathroom facilities, fresh towels every day, good breakfast. A busy bar, restaurant and hotel across the bridge from the centre. On a corner, yet the rooms were well-insulated from external noise. I was happy there!

Friendly, good value!

My title is such because we did not stay at the hotel but, if the hotel is anything like their krestaurant and bar you are in for a treat. The food is superb. The buffet a volante is extensive and offers a wonderful selection of starters. Main courses are substantial, verging on large and steak is truly cooked as you want it ( as are burgers ). I have never had such an enormous Champagne cocktail for just 8€ and wine is good and very well priced. Service is superb. Best of all are the extremely comfortable outdoor chairs which accommodate all sizes and do not leave you with patterned legs. I highly recommend 
this restaurant.
Superb. Un ambience tres agreable et Le service est superb. Les repas sont grand et la  cuisine est impeccable. C'est in restaurant tres bon. Je ce recommande avec plaisir.

Lovely place to eat and drink

Nice friendly hotel in a great location central to everything. Clean comfortable rooms with a decent bathroom. There is a bit of street noise but nothing to much. Food was good and at a reasonable price.

bike trip

Stopped over one night on our way back to Dieppe. Was right on the river bank, we struggled to park & ended up some distance away but there was a car park next door. We were on the top floor, was ok for us, but be careful if you have a problem with stairs as there was no lift. The staff were really nice, in the evening we ordered a bottle of champagne in the bar & they came out with a big plates of tapas style dips, really nice gesture and was all we needed to eat.

Great staff, great location

This is an excellent central location for eating and the Bar/Restaurant has a limited choice focusing on local produce. Staff are friendly and we ordered the pasta carbonara and the steak.

The Pasta was excellent but there were huge amount of it. It was well prepared. The steak was huge when it arrived but was virtually unedible - So lets get this bit right. I like the way France does it steak slightly cooked but this was different. The steak had lots of sinew still attached and had a brief discussion with the pan, this meant that the meat was raw and red, had to peeled from the sinew. A good piece of meat can deal with this but this was beyond me ....dissapointing
