A genuine real chateau experience! The rooms are appropriately furnished in the style of an erstwhile era (but with electricity, central heating and en-suites!!). The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The extensive grounds gave us the opportunity to see the chateau from all angles as well as enjoying the views across the countryside. The chateau is run by 2 brothers who were very helpful, one of whom gave us a mini-tour of the ground floor rooms. The buffet breakfast is worth a mention too – plenty of variety and very nice.

A most enjoyable stay in the country

This chateau is situated in a beautiful country side.
The territory is huge and very well maintained  - you will be surrounded by forest, black swans swimming in a pond, and also mini ZOO with wild pigs.
We were lucky to meet and shake hands with the owner of the chateau.
His son ensured we were comfortable in our room and had all we needed
In the morning we had tour of the chateau, which was very interesting as they have a very beautiful antique furniture and authentic pieces of art.
The hard working family really make guests happy.
The breakfast is good, Wi FI very strong!

Great night at the historic castle!

This chateau is situated in a beautiful forest. The views are amazing. The rooms are large and the bathrooms are modern. Period furniture throughout. Great staff. Very clean with lots of walking paths. Many historical things to visit nearby. Nice breakfast. We loved our stay. Just wished we would have stayed longer.

A night at the Chateau

You pass through an idyllic country side rich with history as you approach Chateau de Peufeilhoux.  As you approach you are struck by the groomed landscape complete with black swans swimming in a pond - very romantic setting.  The moment we passed through the gate of this small castle into the large courtyard we stopped in our tracks and smiled at each other.   The Chateau is a beautiful historic structure that is lovingly restored and maintained by the family who keeps and operates the business.  The original medieval fortress which was on the site was built in the 12th Century - the Chateau that is on site now was constructed from the ruins of the old castle about five hundred years ago.   The great rooms of the Chateau are a museum filled with impressive furniture,  art work and many interesting things.   I highly recommend taking the personal tour... note the amazing original fire places.  The guest rooms are magnificent.   I opted to reserve the smallest and least expensive of the rooms which was very nice.   However, after seeing the other larger rooms I will surely reserve one of them during our  next visit.   It is hard to describe how elegant these rooms are... they leave you feeling like royalty.  The hard working family clearly takes great pride in their business and strives to make guests happy.  The breakfast is good with everything you would expect.   They even served home baked breads.   I highly recommend reserving  one of the larger rooms with bathtub.   Parking is no problem.  Take the owner's recommendations for dining in the area... they will make reservations for you.  Enjoy a walk along the local historic canal.   The wonderful family has members that speak English and they made us feel at home despite our language limitations.                      

Stunning

We decided to stop off at this hotel on our way to Perpignan from Caen as it was 5 min off the motorway. It was about 4 hours from Caen ferry port and we were disappointed that we could only stay one night. We had booked one family room , but they put us in 2 adjoining rooms instead which was great. The owners who also live and work there were so welcoming warm and helpful. The young son gave us a tour of the castle which is fascinating as it dates back to the 12th century
Rooms reflect that. Sympathetically modernised but everything feels quite medi evil! We loved this especially our son who is 6 years old 
The surroundings are beautiful. A lovely location for a wedding or a get together.

Breakfast produce was all local on made in site and the owner gave us a sketch of the chateau as a momento . Staying here set us up for the rest of the holiday
