Everything as good as expected. Attentive staff, good food, a treat to stay overnight en route. Large room, well equiped. Dining in the very modern dining room - unexpectedly modern/cool decor!-  excellent food as other reports lead us to expect. Perhaps  not the easiest to find, some homework on location would be good, depending on where you're coming from. Good value for what is offered.

very enjoyable stay in charismatic old but updated chateau hotel

This recently renovated hotel is elegant, comfortable and welcoming. I cannot say enough to recommend it!  It is near enough to Paimpol and the coast but away from the built up aspects of the larger towns. It is located outside of Plehedel which is a bit off the beaten track but that is is charm. It is on a very large property which the owner has given over to both a golf course and protected forest lands where a 15 mile (+/-) walking trail through the forest is available to the public. The rooms have marble bathrooms, new carpeting, etc. The bar is lovely with a view of the grounds. The restaurant is fabulous- mentioned by Michelin. I had the weekday lunch which was 2 courses but they proffered a plate with 3 small appetizers and another plate with 3 tiny desserts in addition. Very good food beautifully presented and not at all expensive.

Wonderful renovated 12 th century  chateau hotel and restaurant  very, very reasonably priced.

First time in this area, nothing really special in this village, but for people that love to play golf...and then for people who enjoy a super cuisine, it’s really worth to spend some time at the place.
This chef makes it really great. We enjoyed it from start to finish.

OMG!!

We decided to visit the new look restaurant in the chateau, after having an enjoyable game of golf here.   Not sure it’s a great challenge for golf as it’s not a full 18 holes but nonetheless the round was interesting and the holes between the chateau and the old. manor house very pretty.   We could not get a lunch there on Wednesday as it’s the chef’s day off and the newly refurbished place and restaurant has only just reopened with new management under the young chef Matthieu Kergourlay.    However on the basis of a delicious cake and coffee alternative, we decided to try out the restaurant later on during our stay in this area.   We enjoyed a lovely evening drink on the terrace overlooking the course, then into the restaurant which is very bright and pretty.

Everyone enjoyed their 4 course 50 euro meal celebrating local Breton ingredients and suppliers which is to be applauded.   I particularly enjoyed the celebration of carrots and the general use of vegetables throughout the meal which is something we don’t often enjoy in other local restaurants in Brittany.    My other eating partners enjoyed the veal sweetbreads and beetroot purée but felt the shellfish with it served no purpose.  My John Dory and accompanying veg were good but not spectacular.  My eating partners also loved the sour milk ice cream with buckwheat biscuit but I was not keen on the strawberry tart - rather jammy and sweet .  If you love the particular taste of buckwheat (ble noir) you will enjoy when it figures in the menu.    The main thing is this restaurant and it’s young chef will surely make it a gastronomic destination and I’m sure the rooms are equally of high standard.   If I were a golfer only I’d be disappointed that they can’t provide snacks in the bar during chefs day off in future on Wednesdays?  Good luck to the new team.
