Warm friendly welcome from Marie, nothing was to much trouble, food was great, room was great.
I would highly recommend this hotel to any motorcyclists as our bikes were ushered into their garage off the public street.
Overall a great stay and I would go again if I was in the area.

Auberge du Val de Bois
Conveniently 20 minutes’ drive from Reims (and its magnificent cathedral –our reason for visiting). Free on-street parking in front of the hotel. (Ignore their bit about parking onsite.) Pretty village; shop opposite. Pizza-type eatery about 10 minutes’ walk away. Pleasant lady host -  barperson - dining room waitress; has limited English. Evening meal: menu of the day (with choices)… three courses for €22. Large room with en suite and lovely garden view at back.. (Note when booking: they have only two rooms with ensuites. Otherwise shared bathroom facilities.)  Free Wifi OK. I’d stay there again, especially if visiting Reims.

Near-Reims discovery

Old fashioned hotel. Friendly service. Breakfast with old Bread, good coffee and cheese and yoghurt. Room was ok, no airco. In 15-20 minutes in the centre of Reims (free parking St. Remi basilique). In Bazancourt you can take a train to Reims. Room was cheap

Simple but nice

If you look for a family type hotel, this is the one.
Bedrooms are typical of French country hotel style.
The owner is so helpful and support all requirements providing she can answer to them.
The place is quite easy to find and situated close to a gas station (1/2 mile) and a pizzeria .

A family hotel

I had two specific requirements on this trip: Secure parking and restaurant. Neither, it transpires were available to us. Ordinarily, I would say the road parking is fine, but if you are looking for secure parking,as billed, it's not there! 
The welcome was a bit patchy....bad start, I suppose, but no orientation...time of breakfast, evening meal arrangements etc...and no welcome pack in room, so we had to search a bit to find a notice on the landing. Every time we were in reception, Madame was engaged on the telephone, and we were unable to get her attention. 
There were about 7 rooms occupied that evening. I think the rooms on the first floor are larger...we were on the second floor. Would have been nice to have been offered a better room since they weren't all taken...but hey-ho! 
The room. Small, very dated, far too busy...which was ok....we are used to the quirky Logis standards....but not acceptable were:
Peeling wallpaper and mould on walls in the corners. Just remove the awful paper and paint the walls! 
Mould at high level in shower. There was no fan. There was a hole in the ceiling. (where the fan once was?)
Electric heater in shower room had hanging wiring wrapped up in insulating tape (!)
Very very small shower room, with a curtain to the shower - pet hate.Old old fittings, some loose....Really does need updating. 
Manky old blanket on the bed - not needed as there was a perfectly fine duvet...so why?!. 
Restaurant - there's really no great choice. We noticed the previous nights "menu" only had one plat, and it wouldn't be our thing. We therefore decided to eat out.
On return from our pizza, Madame was outside chatting to what I can only presume to be her restaurant lady...."Allez! Les Anglais! " She urged when she spotted us...presumably in case we were expecting to eat on our return! It was perfectly audible to us as we were literally only metres away...and didn't exactly endear her to us....not least because we are not English! 
Breakfast - seemed ok apart from curly cheese,dry meat and hard bread. Croissants were ok, and there were boiled eggs, and Madame did bring some boiling water for tea. 

All in all pretty bad....had we arrived earlier, I really would have gone elsewhere....not a good experience...the only good thing is the proximity to Reims.
