My experience during my stay was truly great. The hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure a seamless check-in process, and I found the accommodations to be incredibly comfortable. The hotel's advantageous location made it effortless to explore the nearby attractions at my leisure. Although the dining options were not prominently highlighted, I discovered that there were numerous local eateries conveniently situated nearby, offering a variety of culinary experiences. Overall, the hotel proved to be an ideal destination for a tranquil getaway, and I highly recommend it to others seeking a similar retreat.

Location, location ,location

The location is perfect and the staff very friendly, I would definitely recommend if you want to be central at a fair price, I was looking for some sightseeing and the young man at the reception was very helpful.

Perfect location 

Had a great experience at Les portes d'or, very welcoming staff and good service. Will definitely come back and recommend ! We have stay there few days with my family and had a chance to chat with all the members of staff who were really helpful.

Delightful

This small hotel is nothing special, but location is exceptional. Look out the window and you see Place Stanislas 100 m down the road. Simple rooms. Small lift. Bathroom could need a face lift. Extra charge for our dog. Stayed one night 23rd August 2013

Centre of Nancy

Arrived on a Saturday afternoon so little choice of reasonably priced accommodation. We took twin room on 4th floor with 'Juliet' balcony over Rue Stanislas. Once we had sorted out the lack of towels and soap, my wife and I had a cold shower, not what you expect in a hotel. Room was clean and beds comfortable for us. Nowhere to hang anything and only furniture was an out-of-place school desk and a stool. We had a quiet night despite the normal Saturday night crowd outside. Still 5€ for Wifi, what a rip-off! They did not take credit card, so I wonder how much of their income goes through the books?
In summary, stay there if your desperate as we were. Biggest positive is its location.

Walking GR5 from Spa, Belgium to Nice, France

After you paid in Cash €94 they try to rip you off using your creditcard wich is deposit in your App you used to do the booking and cancel your booking…
I just stayed one night because of that in the very basic, shady and not well cleaned room…
In the room you‘ll find just a bed.and a very old and not clean  very small bathroom… 
Bookings are on your own risk!

Rip off

Horrible  place, the worse experience in my more than 35 years traveling the world!! the man who was at the reception treat me like his slave! I ask for a soap because was only a small shampoo sachet at the toilet and the man began to shout saying very bad words againts me.- I decided to leave the hotel inmediatly because I felt at risk in that place

I booked a night at Les Portes d'Or at the last minute because I was traveling for business and mosthotels were full by the time my trip got greenlighted by HR.
So it's ideally located. But that's about it. My room was at the top floor, which the elevator doesn't reach so there's an extra flight of stairs. Good thing I was traveling light. The room was very old fashioned and clearly hasn't been redone since the 60s. The bed was old with a crummy mattress and the carpet was...... Ick, better not thinking too much about.
So the first you want to do when you arrive is settle in and wash your hands, right? There was no soap!!!!
It was also very chilly, which I expected seeing as another guest was complaining at the reception when I arrive, and I was on the last floor so that didn't help matters. The receptionist's reply was that it "wasn't cold enough" for the heat to kick in. In November!!
Needless to say, I slept poorly and the nasty surprise of having no hot water in the morning. Nothing came out when I turned the faucet so I can only imagine they cut it off.

Bottom line: no heat, no hot water. Even for a two star hotel, that is unacceptable.
