The Lodge is set in a rural area and offers rooms as well as individual ‘chalet’ type accommodation.  
We arrived to receive a very warm welcome from the owner.  The rooms booked were next to reception.  The room was huge with tea and coffee making facilities and a comfortable bed.  The back looked out onto grass with woods behind.  The only fault was that I could hear movement and activity in the room next door.  
The restaurant was a 5 minute walk away.  Food and service were very good.
Breakfast was next door to reception and offered a good buffet with scrambled and boiled eggs as hot options.  There were lots of delicious bread options. 
A lovely independent rural lodge - I would return if I was in the area.

Lovely country lodge with a very warm welcome

A beautiful terrace but not open because “the gardener needed to come…..” Instead, we had to eat next to the road and parking. To reserve a table, first a firm No without reason and after some questions, suddenly a table appeared. Throughout dinner, neither the restaurant nor the terrace was fully booked. Unbelievable. Food was average. Such a shame that the lodges that are so beautiful with nature all around, that the restaurant does not match that at all. A pity. A terrace with one of the most stunning views; closed because they lack the will to please their customers. The lodges deserve a far better performance. 

We have visited here on several occasions. The rooms are situated in modern log cabins which are comfortable and warm, particularly important in the winter months! There are some which require a little walk to the restaurant so best to ask for a room nearer if you have limited mobility.
Our most recent visit was for dinner in early February. The service and food was very good, an interesting menu with fresh fish and game. All cooked on the premises. The venison and fillet of pork were our two choices on this occasion and much enjoyed. There is also a good selection  of beers, wines and spirits.

A little out of town but worth the visit!

The lodge is in perfect state of maintenance and the rooms are comfortable. All rooms have an independent entrance and small terrace. The restaurant is separate and offers decent food for a good price. Breakfast is also served here. It is quite a steep hike uphill from the restaurant to the rooms so be prepared. The reception was closed during our stay, hence we missed information about the area, but this might change if occupancy is higher. The view is very nice over Arnsberg. If you like to walking, cycling, nature and relax this is your place. There is not much else to do around the neighborhood. Don't expect shopping, city visits or nightlife.

Oasis for nature lovers

Great Surprise to find such a good Hotel in the middle of the nature. Fantastic room with a comfort bead,good hot shower and a clean room. The early morning breakfast had everything we need to start a new day. Unfortunately I could not stay longer as we had to continue visiting our customers.
