We found this Aparthotel easy to find. It was in a quiet, residential suburb outside the centre of Bamberg.  Access for the ground floor apartment was straightforward.  The apartment itself was spacious, clean and had everything we needed for our stay.  A supermarket was close by as well as an Italian restaurant which was very good. Plenty of free parking. There is a bus service but we chose to walk into the centre and old town of Bamberg which took about 40 mins. We had a great three-night stay.   

Great Apartment

On the outskirts of town in a mainly residential suberb. The Aparthotel has ample private parking and is within 100metres of a bakery and Italian Resuarant so fine for a day or two. 
About 200/300 metrs away round corner regular bus service into town with stops at Main Station and near City Centre. The Old Town is a Short Walk from Centre. Not much else round about but not really a problem. As stated by others no staff on site and coded key boxes for access. OUr room was on Ground Floor. Clean modern and minimalist but with adequate crockery and cutlery to make snacks etc or even full meals if desired. Water Dispenser in Lobby providing both still and sparkling chilled water so top up bottles etc for trips or just to drink in the room. Comfy Clean and convenient (if happy to take bus (quite frequent) on a 5 to 10 minute journey into town. Bus service starts early and there is even a late night service so you can leave car and go into town for meal and drinks at night..

Super Home from Home

Newer hotel, the room was very clean and roomy. 2 single beds with a small kitchen including 2 burner electric stove microwave, small refrigerator, sink, coffee / tea pot, plates, cups, silverware to include a cork screw, and just about everything else you need if you decide to cook in the room.  rates where cheaper than other hotels. close to public transportation bus and taxi. Bakery and restaurant next door to hotel. No staff on duty but they can be contacted, entry code needed to enter the building.  grocery stores and other department stores about a 10 minute walk away. Bus line number 910 will take you to the train station and the city center on round trip is 6.50 Euro. easy to travel and a lot of history. I have a edge since I was stationed there with the US Army in the 80's.

Value

Check-in was fully automated (access code to main door provided via email, room key in a labelled box), but without problems. The apartment was spacious, bright and clean. The Wi-Fi worked only sporadically on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator to bring up the luggage. The location is a bit far from town and there are not a whole lot of food options in the neighborhood. However, price and quality were good overall.

Preiswerte Alternative

it's a new three floor house in a big new community. near old town but not that need,so it very quite. some restuarant and supermarket near by.
it has its own yard can parking in or parking at front of the house. 
there's no staff, totally self servic hotel, the key in the little box which has a room number on it, and you can just find out your room number match your reservation name at the reservation list on the front desk table,  the wifi instruction and password print machine also on table. but the wifi speed is not fast, ok to open normal website, not vedio.
the room is quite new and very clean, also bathroom, bed is very comfortable, the table next to the big window which on the inner side of the house, and you can see the whole yard from the windows. the little kicthen has every basic thing you need , water heater is very useful for chinese.....hahahaha
oh by the way ,when you arrival, the door only can be open by password, so it's safe as far as i felt.
 i don't mind no room service, and i totally feel free through no staff. besides it must cheaper than hotel with staff as same quelity.
anyway i like it!

interesting experiment, low price with good rooms

This was the perfect space for 2 couples - we stayed in a 1 bedroom - 2 in the bedroom; 2 on the couch/pull out. Please note that there is no staff on site.

Positives: VERY easy instructions on how to get in; good location (in a residential area, but very easy to take the bus into town). Great to have a kitchen; parking was easy.

Negatives: the couch was pretty uncomfortable and it took a long time to get hot water (never came out in the sink, may have been turned off). There is no soap or shampoo provided, though linens are. Wi-fi signal was not very good; there was consturction right outside our window.

Good apartment - no staff on site

Extremely noisy from the other rooms, we heard the water loudly running, the fridge was way too loud, walls are like paper way too thin, the first morning we've seen a paid woman worker leaving the hotel,plus strange people were on the parking obviously other "guests", shower was leaking, curtains let all the light through.
We were there with a 5 months old baby and it was totally unsafe and we felt like in a ghetto.

We needed to leave one night earlier, contacted the hotel and so far there is no response. Not to how horrible this place is nor to the question about the paid last night, that we couldn't stay. Due to huge safety issues.

They do not care at all about their guests and we cannot believe in the positive reviews. They are definitely not true. Not even a single star!
