A very good hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. During our visit nobody spoke English. One slight inconsistency. The swimming pool is adjacent to the hotel but it is the local town pool. 
The food in the restaurant was of a good quality. However, be warned. many of the other guest in the hotel spent their days cycling or hiking. So in the evening they had hearty appetites and this hotel served large portions of food to match the appetites. Some meals we just could not clear the plate. Very tasty food though.
For those of you who know Germany. In the restaurant there were several tables for parties of 8 or more. On one table the napkins were not in absolutely  perfect straight line. That is, set up by a laser system. A waitress noticed me looking at this abnormal situation and immediately ran to correct the error. The only "fault" in the place.
We will definitely visit this hotel again.

Peace in the east

The full car park tells you this is a good hotel.  I think a lot of guests were business travellers but families were present too.  As we came in through the front doors we found the reception desk where the young man spoke excellent English.  There's a feeling of elegance and of a nice place to be.  The elevator just to the side took us up to our room which was in the eaves with a sloping wall on one side, but very large and well furnished.  It was a little dated, but in very good condition and clearly well looked after.  There is free WiFi with vouchers from the reception desk.

The bed is a big German double bed with separate mattresses and duvets, but far too firm for both of us.  I mentioned this after the first night and they added some padding to my side of the bed (only).

The bathroom was actually that - a room with a bath as well as the shower.  This could be a problem for some having to step up into the bath in order to shower.  The glass shower screen is too narrow and the floor got a wash each time we used it too.

Breakfast was good with the usual selection of eggs, meats, breads, fruits etc.

Classy looking hotel

The Fürst Pückler hotel welcomed us after a long drive through the Czech Republic and, surprisingly enough, some kilometers on some very poor Polish roads. 
Personnel was friendly and helpful, somewhat put aback by my request to have wifi access for a total of three devices (my iPhone, my boyfriend's iPhone, one iPad... we would have two laptops as well, but I felt I had pushed the staff's patience to a limit). So instead of surfing the net, we headed off for the spa. From the room, it looked like a smallish hut in the backyard. Anyway, we're here, we try. It turned out to be a massively big spa area with a large pool, a water spiral, a jacuzzi, several sauna buildings (!), and in general, nothing to wish for.

We had a lavishly big and very tasty dinner, characterized by enormous portions and very good local beer.
