Hotel room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Very quiet and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms are on the second floor and no elevator. Staff does not speak English but try hard to understand us.  We would be happy to return and stay longer. We are breakfast and dinner in the restaurant and it was wonderful

Highly recommended

This was a typical German hotel with a few pleasant surprises.  Our first surprise was that there is an elevator!  It made carrying our bags that much easier.  Next surprise was that we were in a corner room and had an octagonal alcove with a table and chairs.  We could see the hauptstrasse and the castle from our windows.  With the windows open we could also hear the town fountain gurgling.  The bed was comfy, the hotel quiet.  Everything was perfectly clean.  Breakfast was very nice.  Again a typical German breakfast with a few touches that took it up a notch or two.  The bread table included fresh croissants.  There were eggs made to order.  The coffee was very good and brought to the table in individual China pots.  The usual assortment of meats and cheeses included a lovely salmon spread and an herbed quark spread.  Only caution is that the bathtub is about 20 inches tall, so a big step for anyone with mobility issues.  Not a problem for us, but it could be for some.  All desk and wait staff were very friendly.

Charming hotel in Hornberg

We stayed at the Adler in June 2016 while in Germany on business. I've passed through Hornberg before and always wanted to stay there. It's a nice little town. The stars and planets finally aligned and I was able to stay one night. I chose the Adler because of the Tripadvisor reviews.

My only issue would be with the reservation system. It took several attempts to confirm a reservation. I was told that they only accept reservations through their website. When you try to do this, it's difficult to figure out what information is needed in each field. A little tip: in the end I just sent my information to the email address and within a day they confirmed the reservation. 

Normally, the reservation system would reflect in my review, but once you check in, you will see why the system is not high tech. It's a gasthaus that is family owned and operated, as are most hotels and gasthaus in Germany. They are not open 24/7 as we are accustomed in America. This is very unusual to us, but very refreshing. 

The hotel is clean and neat. Our rooms were small but cozy. They do have wifi and it works pretty well. Their breakfast room was pretty good, too.

We also ate dinner at the hotel. The owner cooked us a great meal. We were waited on by an attractive redhead lady, but beware. She didn't appreciate my American humor.

The price was in line with other hotels of this type that I've stayed in while in Germany. I have to go back and look at my receipts, because I can't remember the exact price, but I do remember that it was very reasonable.

I would definitely recommend Hotel Adler to anyone wishing to stay in Hornberg.



A great gasthaus

Nice small, very clean hotel with very friendly and helpfully staf.
Lovely and fresh breakfast - simple but tasty. Nice, modern bathrooms. And all around Black Forests. I have stay here for several times and can recomend this place also for dinner - tasty local dishes with good local beer or wine.

good breakfast, good beer, nice and kind persons, i like also room service, such a small place it can be a good choice to stay for a while. it was a business trip for me and i can say that Adler is adequate

comfortable in a small village

During my trip to Germany i stayed in the this property for one night on 28th of March. Hornberg is a small town but in spite of that the hotel has been maintained quite nicely. Rooms are clean and have reasonable size. The location of the hotel is right on the main road and in the main market so you have access to almost every thing. As it was a weekend so hotel restaurant was closed on that day so i have no idea regarding the quality of food and service part of it.
Next morning i was served with a good breakfast with reasonable variety. Being a vegetarian there is limitation with me but still i could enjoy with breakfast.
