We like this nice location which is only a little walk away from the lake. Attending a big birthday party in the beautiful 500 years old chapel was a pleasure to us. What a fantastic atmosphere! The room was nice and clean and we had a very good breakfast in the charming restaurant in the oldest frame house of Neuruppin. We can recommend UP-Hus-Idyll.

A sharming location

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights . We were attending a wedding in the delightful chapel on the end if this hotel. We were made so welcome, the room was lovely, food very good, staff friendly and so helpful. The Lady who owns it was an absolute sweetie, we would like to thank her so much. Everything about this charming Hotel is peaceful. We can truly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in this area. 
We will be back for a longer stay next time. Thankyou  Up -Hus - Idyll for being perfect for our stay.

Wonderful Hotel

Beatiful setting in old part of town, near a lake. Maybe not for a noisy family or if you are looking for a place to crash between parties. Tranquillity, nice details like flowers on the window sills, quiet surroundings and even an old chapel adjacent to (in!) the lobby. OK breakfast in a 17-century half-timbered house (ask if you want eggs) in the cobble-stone yard, where you also park your car. 
Surroundings very quiet, the room was very clean, nice and friendly staff. 
If you use GPS you will arrive in a closed street. The hotel, quite anonymous, is reached from the same side as the big church, away from the lake. Turn left into a yard. If you arrive after the reception is closed, you can get help in the restaurant in the timber-framed building there. There is a sign, but it is not so visible in the dark.

Tranquil

I booked this place because we needed to drop our car off early in Berlin and Neuruppin is only an hour away. Plus it was on a lake and known for its spa. That spa was out of our price range and this place had good ratings. And the name intrigued me.

Finding the place was a challenge, even with our GPS and you need to take a back lane to access it. The reception is an old church. That was cool. Attached to the church was a structure that looked like the hotel. Wrong.

We were in this little building across the parking area. One door with two numbers. Take the curved stairs up and we found our room. Possibly the smallest room we ever stayed at (and we have stayed at a lot of places). Painted a deep blue it made it seem even smaller. There was a bench for us to sit on and not much else. Internet? Nope. OMG we thought. As an overnight,  we had no choice and forced to check out the town. 

We came back as It got dark and discovered that the room only had sheers on the window, no curtains. We felt like there was no privacy and obviously, we were getting up at first light.

The beds were firm and okay to sleep on and the duvet kept us warm. The bathroom was small but clean and with the towel heater rack, we could warm up. The room is super clean but just not what the photos looked like. 

Breakfast was included and was very good.

So I wondered why it had such a good rating? In the morning the lot was full of either high end cars or service vehicle. Perhaps this made for a low cost stay with breakfast. By the time we were done breakfast the lot was cleared out. Off to work they went.

Not sure what to think. We got in the car and headed to Berlin.
