Small hotel within the city centre. Enjoyed our stay. It’s clean and well maintained. The owners are very friendly and pleasant. Showed us where to park and explained the places where we should go. I highly recommend this place. 

Good location and pleasant service

We stayed in the family room and it was one of the largest family rooms we’ve found in Europe.  The breakfast was typical with cold cuts, bread, juices, and coffee. The hotel is inside the city walls and just a short walk to the city center. The hosts were very nice and welcoming. 

Cozy, clean, and convenient

Traveling alone, this pension was the best choice. In the walled city, few minutes walk to the Markplatz. The best place I found for my trip.

The room was very small, but with private toilet and private shower. No refrigerator.
The staff  took seriously the Covid measures on check-in, verifying and recording the data from my vaccination certificate.

The town is really nice and there is lots to see.

Small room, but comfortable. Good and cheap choice for travelling alone.

I stayed here just one night with my family of 5 (3 kids between 2 & 12 years), and my parents. My parents had a double room, which was small, but certainly sufficient and clean. The family suite we had was plenty large enough for a family of 6, or slightly more, if somebody shares. Everything was clean & it felt nice and homey, if not new or extravagant. We were given a key to the front door of the building, and then one for our rooms. We were on the first floor, with the first room having 3 twin beds, one with a trundle, a large coffee table, a small TV, and a couple of night stands with lamps. Through this room was a door (that closes) leading to a room with a larger bed- really two twins pushed together (which you could pull apart),  a small desk, and a decent wardrobe. The bathroom was attached to this room, with a small shower. There was a large full mirror, and sufficient power outlets. The only complaint, really, is that the beds were really hard. My dad liked this, but I had a back ache. 
The family suites were in the next building over from the main reception (and my parents' room), but they abut (or they're really close), and the door is just around the corner. The street was actually surprisingly busy late into the night on a Saturday in July, though- so bring ear plugs.
Breakfast was inexpensive, and mostly toast/bread, meats, cheeses, jams, cereal, fruit, and eggs (very German). They had hot chocolate for the kids, and the coffee was okay. I'd say it was a good value for 5Euro. The lady who checked us in & served breakfast was very friendly and accommodating. 
I was able to walk to the main MarktPlatz in 3 minutes by myself when I was in a hurry. It took closer to 10 with my mother and 3 kids at a leisurely pace. The streets are beautiful, and the views were beautiful from everywhere we went in the city.
I recommend this place to families.

Convenient, Cozy, Clean

This place was fine. The room was small but worked fine. Getting the keys was fine. They brought it over to us because we came after 7. The location is great. Super easy to walk around to all the beautiful spots around town.

We wanted a 30 minute late check out to see the town a little more and were told no. Not a big deal, buy just a heads up that there's no flexibility on a late check out. We were told we could put our bags in the hallway, but didn't feel comfortable leaving all our stuff out. The room is a little outdated and the bathroom (separate room for shower & toilet) are small. 

This place is is no frills and no AC, but fine for a quick stop in a beautiful town. 

It's okay

We stayed at the Pension Becker for 2 nights in the week leading up to Christmas.  We were travelling the Romantic Road with friends who had booked this hotel.  We were on our way to Sankt Johann, Austria for Christmas.  After having to wait at least 5 minutes to be let in to Pension Becker we went to our rooms which were functional.  We had the bed in the bathroom - hand basin and shower were within the room.  The toilet was in a cupboard where you sat with your knees against the door - wouldn't do to be too big!  The proprietors were very nice and friendly and the breakfast was more than adequate.  The one thing to note is that you have to pay your bill in cash - they do not take cards.  This hotel was booked via Booking.com and this is something we feel should be made clear at the time of booking. It was not a problem to us but it could have been for some people.  Rothenburg is a beautiful place and well worth a visit.

Cash Payment

The rooms do not have smoke detectors in them. This is in a medieval town where everything is very tight. The single staircase is the only fire exit (aside from jumping out of the windows); it is made of wood and it is very narrow.

The room for two we received was created by building a partition within a larger room. The door to our room was a sliding door that you might find in a closet. A glass shower stall has been installed in the front corner of the room. Part of the shower stall covers the window facing the street. When you take a shower, I guess you need to shut the curtains.

Although we had driven many hours to get there, and already checked in and paid cash upfront for our stay (the only form of pay they accept), we decided to ask for a refund and found a different place to stay that was more expensive.

Although they seemed very upset initially, they then apologized profusely about the lack of smoke detectors and were kind.

We had booked based on the pictures. But when we got there we were brought over to the othere side of the road. 175 euro and all we got was an and old run down converted one bed appartment with a few beds trown in. 
The town is really nice and there is lots to see but will make sure to do my homework before booking in this city again.
