Lovely campsite right on the edge of the lake. Really good shower and toilet block, very clean. Well stocked shop and a bar selling pizza, fries etc. good location to explore Munich and surrounding area with train station in walking distance. Lake is lovely and accessible for swimming etc

Great campsite

We were with our caravan in the beginning of November. I had just two people before me to check in but it lasted more than twenty minutes until I was ready to go. The lady there was very kind abd friendly. There were some people there even if it was rainy and cold. Our parking place was quite spacious but the place is very expensive. The toilettes the first day were quite clean but the second one, not that much. Lots of plastics parts (that u flash) were broken but it’s true that it is not affecting their usage. You must pay to use their kitchen and washing machines and even if we were alone in the area of cleaning dishes, in a part of the room the floor was full of water and the area was not very clean. You can order bread and croissants every morning and in the winter their mini market is clised. The thing is that if this is like this in November I do not know what happenes in high season.

Quite nice place

Very nice place to explore the region of Munich and the beautiful landscapes. Well equiped. The restaurant is also nice. Great view on the lake. I will definitely come backup with my family for a longer summer stay

Very nice place

We stayed here with a tent. Were told that electricity was not available for tents and that we could only stay on the field close to the road. 
Although the other field close to the lake was empty.
Every morning before 8 o clock there were trucks arriving for the restaurant near the lake and camping maintenance was done with a tractor !? The noise .....

The toilet building was brand new. 
Great showers, but ... no doors, so limited privacy and what I did not appreciate was the fact that there were male and female cleaners and the male cleaners came into the female quarters. Not ok if there are no doors .....

Ok stay

I stayed here as a tent camper for 3 nights.  I was able to get a site right on the lake which was beautiful, the sunsets over the lake were stunning! You can also rent a SUP and take a spin on the lake, which I would have done if I had more time.  

The campground is outside of Munich so it is not a tourist destination, which was also nice, lots of space (only 4 other tents in the field). But make sure you know at least a little German to get by, as no one really spoke English. 
Everyone staying there was very nice (mostly motorhomes) and I had no issues as a solo traveler. They also just rebuilt the facility that houses the showers, dish washrooms and other facilities and it is beautiful and well maintained.  

That said, of the 3 nights I was there the camp store and restaurant were closed for 2 of them ... which I found frustrating and the check-in process was short with little information on what the campground offered and the procedures for getting in and out of it with a car (the campground is gated).   

A beautiful place to camp, with a few glitches ...

We stayed with a tent on the lake side with a pretty view. Overall the quality was ok, but the sanitary buildings near our place did not have a shower and a toilet in one building. This is just inconvenient. Furthermore, at the showers near the lake (that are free as opposed to those at the front) are not private, and only a plastic curtain separates you from the other people. No place to put your things. Fortunately it was quiet at the the times we were there. A plus is the food in the restaurant near the lake, this was very good. 
We stayed here as a first stop for a destination further away, and we stayed a couple of days to visit Munich. The camping was more than good enough for that, but I would not stay here 2-3 weeks.

Nice for tents, mediocre sanitary facilities

The camp is ok....the sites were very muddy and messy, the shower room was warm and a good shower..very clean. The nicest part  if the camp is the lady at reception, she could not have been nicer or more helpful...a bit of. Muddy walk into the train station...on a dangerous open road....

The location is in the Munich outer suburbs, there's an s bahn stop about a mile / 1.5km away, or by car a short hop from the A96 autobahn to lindau. 
Contrary to others, we found the sanitary facilities ok. There's 3 sanitary blocks and the newer one by the lake is cleaned daily and is perfectly ok. 
The main attraction of the place is the lake and it's great for kids as its shallow for a long way out so is good for learning to swim. Come high summer the water temperature is over 20degrees so nice and warm. 
If camping with a tent there's a large field or if you're lucky you can get a place by the lake itself. 
It seems that the much maligned shop has changed ownership last year and I have no issues with them except it does get busy on a warm day, but to be fair they are pretty well staffed in the shop and kiosk and it's the sheer size of the crowds that's the issue. 
There's a lunch break at reception where the barrier isn't manned, but if you have a smart card (free but €20 deposit) then you still can get in and out. But if looking to check in you would indeed have a problem. It's not unusual in Germany to have funny restrictive hours, so the moral of the story is to be a good Boy Scout and be prepared (and do your research in advance !)
