We arrived late, no restaurant open but they were very happy to make us pizzas. They were great ! Went for a walk and found just down the road there was a restaurant. Free parking on site. We had a few laughs with reception staff, we speak no German , they spoke a little English. But we all worked out what we needed to do, with a few laughs. 
Breakfast was great, cheese, cold meats  etc but they also offered scrambled or fried eggs. 
And only a short drive to the mega zip line ! 
Oh I couldn’t find a hair dryer was the only down point.

Quirky place to stay, thumbs up !

Hotel offers nice rooms personal service. Excellent breakfast and diner. Bar is open 24 hours. Great hike allong the river to thale and other great hikes nearby. Nice historical mediaval town as quedlinburg closeny

Great hotel great location

We spontaneously booked a night at Hotel Zur Luppbode when we found out about the Walpurgis festival. With only 24 hours notice our expectations were low but we were so happy with our random hotel booking. The little town is absolutely charming, the facilities at the hotel were nice and clean, and Dolf at check in was an absolute lifesaver. We conveniently checked in with Dolf who I think may actually be the only person in town who spoke English and went out of his way to help us finalize our plans for the evening. We only stayed one night but wished we could have had more time exploring town. If you have a chance to come for Walpurgis it was SO much fun! Thanks Dolf!

Charming Hotel, Super Helpful Staff

The hotel, which was already there in the DDR-era, has clearily seen better days... Altough the personel was friendly and helpfull, we will be looking for an other hotel if we would come back. Everything was old - going from the hotel itself, to the dishes to the towels,... The rooms where spacious, and the beds where quite ok (can’t go wrong with Ikea... :) ) Free parking - and plenty of it. However if you’re a biker (motorcycle) there isn’t really a safe place to park it - the garage they have is actually an old shed with some room for max 2 bikes and a lot of jurk around that bit of room. They serve dinner, limited menu - but what we had was good. All in all we had a nice stay, but we’re not impressed at all...

Long lost glory

The hotel is located in a very nice spot where are also hiking/biking routes just on the side in the forest.Our room was clean and basic and we also had a balcony which needs a bit of fixing since it doesnt feel and look that stable.The hotel was closing at 20:00 every night (and the kitchen at 16:00)which is not that weird for such a small village but if u want to eat or  have a drink you have to bring it yourself or go in Thale or surroundings.We had booked also a 3 course dinner that wasnt that great,huge soup for appetizer and frozen deepfried schnitzels with pepper sauce and no other choice.If you dont like spicy food better say it in advance because they are not gonna ask you.A good thing is the guys that have the hotel they are pretty helpful and friendly and breakfast was also good and fresh.
