Loved the Sundownerbar in the grounds of the hotel.
West facing so always perfect sunset watching location.
Reasonably priced food and drinks, service was a little slow at the beach bar, just need more staff as the ladies were trying their best.
Highly recommended!

Sundownerbar

The very nice Chiemgauhof has great style and an incredibly nice atmosphere thanks to the lovely owners and team.  It's located on the beaches of Chiemsee and in the evening time it offers the best sundowner chill time thinkable. The rooms are not luxurious but lovely decorated. The food is excellent with lot's of local ingredients from the lake and around. We will be back for sure!

More than magic ...

We came to this hotel to join in a wedding being held here. Service was top notch, friendly, attentive and genuine. small boutique hotel we had room 24 which had two adjoining rooms one for the kids (2 single beds) and one with a queen bed for my hubby and me. Access to a porch looking right out onto the lake. Beautiful establishment fall windows are amazing. Hotel is suited to cater a wedding of 50-60 people at the most. We had 100 and it felt cramped not enough seats outside for the ceremony and at times the staff seemed a little overwhelmed. Food was excellent rooms were clean, the pool although a tad chilly was a nice advantage. Parking was a little challenging not much right up close to the hotel entrance. All and all a great stay would recommend to anyone travelling as a family. 

Wedding for a dear friend

We've been to Chiemgauhof 4 times and love it more each time. First, the view is amazing and so peaceful - watching sailboats, swans & windsurfers against the dramatic backdrop of the mountains. Second, the atmosphere is so chilled out and laid back, especially in the evenings as people gather to watch the sunset while sitting on the pier and drinking drinks from the bar (a converted 1950s Airstream caravan). There's a little beach area, which is open to the public, and another small, grassy area which is just for guests. There are tons of very beach chic lounge chairs & beds. Third, the food is AMAZING!!!! Each time we've been, we promise to go out and eat at least once somewhere else for a change. And each time, it's a huge disappointment compared to the fabulous food on offer from the owner/chef. Breakfast is a huge spread, and it's so beautiful sitting outside under the trees right next to the water. Lastly, they are so friendly and easy going at the hotel, especially with children. We have 3 kids, and they love it there. There is so much for them to do. And the many mountain trails nearby (from easy to difficult) is like being on the set of The Sound of Music. The rooms are a good size, charming, but pretty simple and clean. The hotel fills up pretty quickly with repeat guests, especially in the summer. The ONLY downside is that you can't reserve a table for dinner in the prime spots on the water's edge in the evenings. And because of the spectacular sunsets, the outside terrace/restaurant gets really busy, so we usually send the kids down early with books and games (at 6pm) to bag a table at the best spots. It's quite a trendy crowd which arrives in the evening in their Porsches & Ferraris from Munich

A charming boutique hotel in a fabulous location - barefoot chic at its best

This hotel is perched right on the edge of the Chiemsee. We were staying nearby and came down for a meal with our German relations. As with many local restaurants the food is excellent and the service fast and friendly. 4 mains + drinks+ coffee = €110. Great value in our view. As usual, German & cash are required, rather than English & cards.  Only downside is limited parking. This restaurant scores because of the beautiful views, as the sun sets over the lake. It's very hard to leave when you've finished your meal !

Great food and excellent views

I can recommend this hotel, as the location is really relaxing and a cool climbing-park is a nabour of the hotel. The hotel's "sundowner-bar" allows you to see the sunset which is reflectimg in the chiemsee. Nice the pass the time here. Rooms are clean and all have an individual style and names like for example: "Kajüte". Nice sauna and little pool. We ate really really good at the hotel restaurant for dinner.
Choice for the breakfast is ok. The staff is friendly and efficient. Enough parking spaces on the hotel-area. 
I can recommend the hotel and I think I will return to stay for more than 3 days.
