They charged me more than the regular amount because it was their policy to count 1 euro as 300 HUF and they didn't even notify me. It is not about the money, it is about the gesture. But the place is such a mess. People eating their food in the kitchen and after not cleaning what they have left behind nor washing the dishes.The toilets were disgusting: I think that they haven't been bleached in weeks ( you can smell the urine from the toilet seats).The showers were clogged from hair and there's not place to leave your clean stuff after showering. arbage was pouring from the garbage bins.Also, I must not forget this: beware of the stuff you put in the freezer, somebody might eat your food. That was the case with my food.And finally the location, being close to Deak Ferenc Ter is great,but this Kiraly street where the bedrooms are, is total madness. Very loud music from the nearby pubs, people screaming so loud, cars driving as they are on a rally....

Overall, not a pleasant experience and I totally don't recommend this hostel. And it is not that cheap after all. For that value you can find a nice Airbnb that may be a bit far from the center, but at least it will be clean and you will have privacy. 


Awful experience !

You get a little bit less than what you pay for. Bad smells, dirty almost everywhere, there was a mushroom in the bathroom (photo proof), shower was warm 20% of the time. I liked that there were lockers that fit a small suitcase and that the front door and dorm doors had padlocks. Otherwise, there is never anyone at the reception and out of the dozens of hostels I've stayed at, this might be the second worst. That being said, because of the cheapo price and my resiliency, however, I would consider staying here again.

Mushroom in the Bathroom

The first day I couldn't sleep there, when I booked, I tried to call them and to send an email but no-one answered. When I arrived the hostel was closed and in the middle of the night I had to find another hostel. The day after, they even didn't answer to my email and I went there. So I stayed there for one night (the second that I've booked on hostelworlsgroup.com) and they even didn't ask me a document so no check-in (I guess it's because they didn't want me to write a review). When I was about to leave the hostel I asked for an invoice and they gave me a fake one, then I told them that I knew it was fake and the guy tried to say that the invoice was a real one. Finally he called his boss and he gave me a real receipt but the stamp was not of the hostel, it was of "portfolio trade solutions zrt" (which is a shop in Budapest). So basically it's another fake invoice). Btw the hostel is very dirty, probably not cleaned for the last months.

Really Terrible

Dirty, smelly, noisy, just find abetter option! The worst hostel I’ve ever been!

There are better options to book, please avoid this place. Hard to find, terrible bathrooms, terrible beds... AC doesn’t work! DONT BOOK!

Dirty, Smelly... Noisy!

The hostel was dirty, smelly and very very unhygienic. It is apparently cleaned 2x a day, although the shower floors were filthy and litter was everywhere in the bed rooms. 

We also had things stolen by room mates, and when reported to reception, no one could care less. Do not use this service.

Dirty, unsafe and things were stolen

Seems liked no one is maintaining the cleanliness of the facilities. Bathrooms were not draining properly. Water is overflowing. Rooms are dirty. Linens and sheets were pretty old. They just kept everything in pile not pleasant to see old towels and linen at the side of the locker. Poor service what you pay is what you get. Poor customer service too.

Poor Facilities

Very unimpressed with this hostel. Getting in was easy enough but you get what you pay for, the bathrooms are small and gross and the beds are terrible quality. I was in the mixed 12 dorm and people were going in and out all night and turning the lights on. The hostel is located on a very noisy street and there is noise all night long. There was someone to check in with in the morning but at no other time was there a staff member at the facility. Only one of the bathrooms had toilet paper and there were no towels. The common room is nice and big but one of the only good things about this hostel. I would definitely recommend spending a little extra to find a different place. 

Spend the money to upgrade

This hostel is horrible. 
A note on the bathroom claims that there is cleaning twice a day, which does not explain why the toilets are so disgusting that I preferred to use any other restroom in the city. Hygiene is an alien-word for the owners.. from the moment we stepped through their door, a strange stank filled up my nose. Not to mention BEDBUGS! 
The only reason this hostel can get one star is because of the location, but you can find better solutions that this! Not worth the money we saved.. 

CoolTour? NOT SO MUCH

I stayed here for 4 nights and it was very dirty! The shower wouldn’t drain and therefore would flood out of the door after about 30 seconds. The toilets were never cleaned in the four days we were there which ended up being revolting and didn’t end up using them afterwards! There was never anyone at the reception even within the hours they were meant to be there so when I needed someone, it was impossible to get any help (or a towel) and the €6 back I paid to rent it out! I then discovered after leaving that I now have bed bug bites all over me and it was clear that they were from here! If you don’t care about hygiene then this is the place for you. The only good thing was the location.
