I chose this hotel at the last minute after a long bicycle ride from Siofok to Kaposvar in late May. I generally prefer small, personal, boutique-style hotels to the large, communist-era monsters that are often the alternative in this part of the world. It's a relatively small and simple hotel - don't be put off by the cubby-hole style reception area under the stairs (they hope to improve on this soon) but the rooms are special, are elegantly furnished, large and well-equipped, and service is friendly, kind, and helpful. I would certainly return here. Breakfast was good, too, eggs cooked in front of you.

Ideal small, personal hotel in the town centre

Although you might be troubled if you come from the back side of the hotel, do not be alarmed. The hotel itself is so clean and well equipped that you will have to love the rooms and the service. The people working there are so friendly and helpful and the furniture is definitely very functional and pleasant. The breakfast includes everything you need for a good beginning of the day and they prepare some of the things fresh when you come (eggs, ham and eggs...)

In the town center and in a walking s+distance to everything

After a week in Hungary, it was nice to have a full apartment to spread out in for a couple nights.  Has separate sitting area, bed/wardrobe area, and dining area with refridgerator.  Shower also very spacious.  My son slept up in the loft area with an entire double-sized bed to himself.  Staff very helpful and kind.  Also, staff at morning breakfast very nice and accomodating as well--we arrived just as breakfast was finishing (9AM), and the hostess still seated us and asked if we wanted any eggs made to order.  Location is also great--right next to two outdoor shopping centers, in walking distance of TESCO, only a couple blocks from the bus station, and at the end of the long pedestrian street that leads to the main town square.  View from the windows in the sitting room overlook the pedestrian street.  In the hotel courtyard there are play area for children also.

Most spacious, beautiful

Stayed  one night in room in number 8 for my wedding anniversary . Room is very well decorated, cozy and clean. I enjoyed the details in the decoration and the familiar environment. Many compliments to the receptionist who helped me with the reservation and answering questions (in English), even sending me extra pictures of the room. No noise problems with festivals in town. 

Cozy and elegant

During our tour through Hungary we had booked a night at the Pergola, in an apartment room (anteroom, kitchen/dining, separate toilet, bathroom/shower w/ another toilet, and 2 sleeping rooms) facing the pedestrian area on one side, and the courtyard on the other. We arrived late afternoon, and outside it was already completely dark - the hotel doesnt really feature too many signs, and you have to know that the entrance to the reception is next to their main restaurant (an Italian style one) very close to the beginning of the pedestrian area itself. 

The apartment itself was clean, big enough, they had organised the baby crib, and everything was ready for us to settle in. Room for improvement here: fix the lock on the main entrance door of the apartment, and supply more than 2 towels for a family of 3. 

The apartment was very clean and neat, and we had enough space of course. Noise level is fine, though you can hear the main road outside as the hotel is situated close to the beginning of the old town style pedestrian area, which borders on one of the main roads there. 

Breakfast was interesting and certainly has room for improvement (it was Sunday, so maybe things are different during weekdays) - breakfast can be had in a separate room of the restaurant, but you can get there through a small passage in the courtyard of the main building. Enough tables for maybe 10-12 families, and tables are large. The buffet is not very plentiful, however, but maybe it is made according to the number of rooms occupied, and not all guests seem to be taking up the breakfast on offer. There is coffee, tea, some bread/rolls/sandwiches, jam, sausages, cheese - but not too much both in terms of amount and variety. Eggs - you can prepare omelette as well - yourself - if nobody is there to serve it to you (not a bad thing, but when the guy acting as both waiter and receptionist came in again he was surprised that we had done it ourselves, just like the guests before us). There is also an assortment of juices, which is actually guite good.

Everybody was very kind and polite, and the hotel can be recommended without hesitation. The minor issues can be ignored if you are not too picky and dont expect 5* metropolitan ambiente in a smaller provincial city (less than 70k pop.) - for this kind of city we'd consider this hotel ideal and authentic.
