Brilliant haveli stay. I stayed 2 nights in March/April 2023 and loved my stay. I would have liked a longer stay and will return. The manager and his wife were amazingly helpful and went out of their way to ensure I was well fed (delicious home cooked food), comfortable, and to showcase Ahmedabad. I was late in from the airport and the manager was waiting at the door at 1am, worried that I was lost and ready to help walk me through the POL streets. The view from the bedroom window, looking over the nearby temple, is gorgeous and instagram-able. Both rooms look on to the little street and are very quiet. One has a balcony and the other shuttered windows that opened up and let the sunshine in. I sat sipping marsala tea watching the monkeys jump from roof to roof. The rooms are so pretty and atmospheric. They are spacious, comfortable and super clean. Location was easy walking in seeing the markets and the manager was helpful in guiding through the the old city sights and POL houses.  It is a great experience walking through the POL district. There are stairs which are easy enough and the manager helps with luggage.  I can't wait to go back to visit this very friendly and atmospheric haveli.  Recommended for those wanting more than a hotel room. It was simply a delightfully experience.

Boutique haveli with loads of atmosphere.

Upon arriving I was barraded on the phone by the new management to cancel on expida and pay in person. I had already paid online and could not cancel, he was super rude and kept badgering me. He said it was the old management's Expedia account and when I told him I wasn't going to pay cash until my card was reimbursed he yelled at me. Put a really bad taste in my mouth at the start of the stay. 

Luckly, the two housekeepers made the stay so worth while. They are so sweet and helpful! The food was home cooked and fantastic. Narian was able to tell us about tours of the Old City and was ready to help with whatever we needed. The place itself is incredible! The open terrace was beautiful and the room was even more so. It was also very clean!!

Do Not Book on Expedia

Beautiful historic haveli in old city of Ahmedabad. Narayan was great at greeting us at late hour. He made us tea and toast - very welcome. traditional Indian breakfast- very delicious 😋 Narayan’s tour of Jain temples much appreciated. 

Beautiful historic haveli

This beautiful little haveli tucked away in old town is not only extremely comfortable and clean but also boasts one of the best caretakers ever, Narayan. He took all the trouble to ensure our stay was welcoming and safe (we were a group of girls unfamiliar with Ahmedabad). He cooked excellent vegetarian food as you might find in any Indian home, plus was happy to arrange for reliable transport and advise on touring the city. Additionally, he also took us on small tours around the old town (night walk, temple tours, etc.) and shared the history of the place and culture. It's cozy ambiance allowed us to meet fellow travelers as well. Really fantastic experience!

Lovely, homely Haveli in old town with excellent service

Stayed for three nights and loved the room. Not 5 star but you wouldn’t come here for that, nevertheless it has all you need and very comfortable. Narayan looked after us so well, escorted us around the old town, to eat at Manek Chowk and arranged tuk tuks to see the sights. Thank you!
Highly recommend if you want something a little different!

Great old Haveli in old town

This was one of the best part of my trip, the Haveli is retrofitted very well and has all facilities and overall is clean and tidy. Narayan, the caretaker was a great help, it was like a home stay for us and he took us around the city and showed us some other beautiful havelis and was a wonderful guide and cook. It’s worth staying here when you’re in the world heritage city 👍🏽

Old Haveli in midle from the old City. Real India with perfect servie and food. Also help as guide to and from the Haveli. good food. AC and rooftop. I was very happy in this Haveli! fair price. overall top

Top in old city

Dodhia Haveli has been converted into a boutique heritage home. It is a wooden heritage house with a carved facade. Quite picturesque. The Haveli is located in the heart of the old city. For anyone who stays here, s/ he will be transported back in time. But old city also means it's in a narrow lane where a 4-wheeler may not be suitable.

Exteriors Review

Old style small haveli which has been very tastefully decorated. Decent breakfast. Very good service by the caretaker.
 
One must be aware though that it is situated in a very old part of the city with narrow lanes into 
which cabs cannot enter. Requires some walking to come to a main road. Also the staircase is narrow and steep and may be difficult to climb for old people. I considered it an out of the way experience but my parents who have seen plenty of old style houses in their time were unimpressed and thought it was a big waste of money.

Good stay

A small haveli has 2 rooms managed by one hotel staff. It is located in a narrow alley of the old quarter. Although the haveli was dated and not as beautiful as in the pictures but still nice. The bed was comfortable. Complimentary walking tour in the evening by the hotel staff was good. 

Stairs to both rooms are narrow and steep that would be a problem for old people. The major issue was constant noises from neighbors and strayed dogs. Overall we think the room overpriced and too noisy to stay.
