I spent 5 weeks at this place.
Very clean. Very nice and calm.Staff is very nice.
The hostes Nazu and her dreamteam the 2 cleaning boys is making this place to the very best. Very thanks to Raj and Jitu and special to hostes Nazu.
Its possible to order breakfast in the morning and the breakfast is superb and over standart.
The rooms are very nice and the cleaning is the best. All day they try to give you best service. And there is laundryservices at low cost.

As previously commented - cleanliness is the aim here. I have never seen so much cleaning going on anywhere else in India! The owners are proud of what they have, and they should be.
The review from 'manokrti' unfortunately sums up the mindset of many nationals that they  can just make a mess and expect someone else to tidy up after them. Why shouldn't the owners of a nice place criticise this sort of behaviour?

Another enjoyable stay

Stayed in this place over 3 times. Last they irritated to the core.

No papers should be dropped on floor. 
Nothing should b spilled on floor.
Everything should b kept clean. 

Then Y the hell I hired the place for living?

Poor Customer service

The 1* review was posted by someone who didn't seem to know or bother about house rules and standards of behaviour - and didn't like being told. The review has been repeated elsewhere as some form of revenge.
Bear in mind that this is a block of 7 apartments, and, other than breakfast (small extra charge), you are looking after yourselves. Plenty of eating places around the area.
Anyway, the reality is that this is really good basic accommodation with a/c and must be the cleanest place we have ever stayed in within India! There is a team of 3 girls who sweep and wash the floors daily and keep everywhere spotless. When they have finished inside, they go and sweep the roadway!
Nice helpful husband and wife team run it.
For what we wanted we couldn't fault it and highly recommend a stay.
The ultimate accolade - we have booked for next year.

Ignore 1* review

A true family place, where I soon felt like a welcomed guest. In 5 weeks I have lived in the Empire Guest House, surrounded by warmth, care and great hospitality. The apartment is lovely with a cosy balcony and I have never been somewhere so clean and hygienic. 
I give my best recomandations.

A real nice place to stay in Calangute

I booked for a 3 night stay at this place. The place is extremely clean and the location gives a native feel of Goa surrounded by small bunglows and greenery.

It was run professionally. The breakfast and limited options mainly egg but the masala omlette and ginger tea were super.
The Parsi  couple running this place are super cute and give some clear necessary instructions for guests.
They were very helpful with taxi arrangements etc.
The rooms are spacious and there is a pantry fridge and dining area. So someone staying longer can probably have cooking options. Need to check with owners. They have a nice balcony overlooking beautiful Goan houses.
The place is walking distance from the beach
 Also very close to main road for grocery,medical, lots of restaurant options.
I would definitely recommend this for travellers who need peace and calm and good service.
