Gloria's homestay is amazing. In walking distance to shops and tourist places of interest. The hosts, Sharlet and Jose, are a blessing from God. They are so welcoming and friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. I had a bad experience with lost luggage by the airline, and they made lots of calls and tracked it down for me. 
My room was spacious and clean, with aircon and a ceiling fan. Although I ate out while in Fort Kochi, I much preferred Sharlet's home cooking. The mutton biryanai was awesome, and the breakfast dosas, wow wow. 100% recommend this place. 
They also arranged a Kathakali show and backwaters trip for me. They are both well worth doing.

Fabulous Homestay, amazing hosts

We had the wonderful pleasure to spend six nights in Charlotte's and Jos' place. The room was adequately spacious, very clean and equipped with everything you'd need for a couple of days. Despite being situated in the core of Fort Cochin, we had no problems with any noises during day or night due to its location within a calm alley. We also could use the beautiful green rooftop, balcony and porch to relax after a long day or to hide from the heat which was really pleasant. 

To meet Charlotte, Jos, their son and parts of their family was the real pleasure of our stay because they had so much great advise and an answer for any question we had about Cochin. As everyone spoke perfect english communication was extremely easy. Their hospitality and friendly spirits made us feel super comfortable and homey. We recommend the breakfast prepared by Charlotte which offered a marvelous insight into the local cuisine. Sadly we couldn't take part in a cooking class of Charlotte because of our schedule but we'd surely plan to be part on our next journey to Cochin as the food was really astonishing. 


Thanks for a home away from home!

I traveled with 8yo daughter who is not fan of spicy food.Charlotte made for her great home cook meal morning and night.I could also enjoy her kerala style curry and cooking class at same time. Location is also great.very quiet area and you can walk around many places.ご飯が美味しいホームステイです。元々料理の先生でもあるシャーロットさんに8歳の娘用にチリとペッパー抜きのご飯を作ってもらっていました。

Great people and fantastic food

My friend and I had a few hours to experience Kochi, so we booked a cooking class. We spent two hours with Charlotte, who turned out to be not only a fabulous cook but a warm and gracious host.
 We felt like we had discovered a long lost relative. I highly recommend this hands on cooking class. The food was wonderful and the whole experience delightful. If I am ever come to Kochi again,  I will definitely stay at her charming guest house.

Awesome homestay experience.  The place is situated on a small, quiet road, walking distance to the ferries.  The couple are extremely nice and made us feel welcome.  Our room was good, clean, wifi accessible.  There is also a covered roof top area where you can sit and work on your computer.  They are able to cater to vegan and gluten free breakfasts and I'd definitely recommend it!

Best place I've stayed in Fort Cochi!!!

We didn't stay here but had a cookery demonstration booked as part of a tour. Its not the sort of thing I would do usually but I have to say that I really enjoyed both the (hands on) cooking and then eating what we cooked. Very pleasant couple of hours.

charlotte ( i am not sure about the spelling) and her husband jose welcomed us most kindly into their home stay for four nights. there were five of us, two of us in our sixties and three in their early 30’s. four of us had two air conditioned rooms and one a non air con room. the rooms were very clean, spacious and simple. the air conditioning was quiet and worked very well. our young friend who did not have air conditioning was ok in his room with just the fan but i would have found it too hot. rooms come with a sheet, a towel and toilet paper, a desk with chair, a bureau and comfortable twin beds pushed together. the shower had cold water, which we found refreshing as it was a good way to keep the body temperature down. the house is three floors, the family stays on the ground floor, the four rooms are on the second, and there is a lovely roof top patio area on the third where we had all our delicious breakfasts. charlotte even made us a special new year’s meal (thank you charlotte!) jose, charlotte and family are all such kind gracious people. on new year’s eve we were included in two family parties and had the best time dancing at jose’s brother’s home next door. they fed us and we danced and laughed together and we all felt that new years will never be the same after such a great time. two of the people in our group took charlotte’s cooking class and loved it. she is very knowledgeable about spices and is a great cook. she made us a different breakfast every morning, and although we knew she was tired from feeding her large family over the holidays, she always had a beautiful warm smile on her face. the homestay is on a very quiet lane way in an excellent location for exploring fort cochi. the value here is excellent and the people, some of the kindest you will meet. highly recommend.

gracious, wonderful hosts in a lovely home

Got to Homestay after quite a trek from the airport, bridges closed due to volume if people attending festivals and New Year celebrations.  This meant taxi to Hop on, get out and get tickets for ferry, lug luggage on and then off ferry, get another tuk tuk to location ... rooms are basic but very clean - excellent A/C (too cold) and ceiling fan, not much space to lay out luggage for 2 people but moved furniture around to make it work.
Excellent Wi-Fi, shower etc, of you want alcohol you have to tell them in advance and they will buy it and chill it for you. Roof top gives good views for people watching, very good location for the 2 x beaches and Chinese fishing nets etc. Princes Street is 10 mins away as are several bars.
Good location for anyone exploring the area - or even a 1st or last stop before the airport.
Would stay here again - what more can you say.
Owner is very friendly and accommodating. 

4 day stay over New Year 2019/20

First time coming to a homestay after enjoying a series of 3-5 star hotels was a bit nervous situation at first, in couple with my purpose of visit being exam wasn't exactly bringing up any positive feeling. However since the moment I entered the facility I understood what a real home stay should be, I would applaud and cheer for the hospitality and warmth of a home,giving off so much positive vibes as well as tasty food has proven to be memorable event of my life."Thank you" for such a good time at Gloria home stay
