This is a excellent place to spend a couple of days . The location is excellent. Mr Ajesh the owner is very helpful . There is a ayurvedic massage center a couple of kilometers away where one can have a good ayurvedic massage.Will recommend

I believe this one is definitely one of the finest homestays i have ever been so far which really good dinner, clean bathrooms, good breakfast and lunch. They are situated in almost an island set up a few kms ahead of Bekal, Kasaragod area where one side is backwaters and other side is sea. They have their own sit out in the beach where u can walk even after dark and sit as they have a small hut with lights. U can sip some tea with cool breeze blowing, swim in the beach and come back to the resort to have an open sky shower. Mr Ajish is very polite and accommodative. I went there around 2nd Oct weekend. They have also AC rooms for an additional charge. I was a bit disappointed by less amount of non veg served but i guess the large batch who had food ahead of me had a sumptuous meal. It's a nice walk by the sea or lazing in the hammocks within the property. Reasonable and relaxing - if u have a car then just drive down, roads are splendidly clean n tidy. Or else u can take a taxi from Kannur Airport. This is a good homestay for a minimum of 3 days stay if u r looking for a home away from home. They can also arrange for custom menu like Tiger prawns on special order. I would be making it again for a longer trip for sure.

Best homestay experience ever so far with good food. Reasonable and relaxing!

Our stay here was without doubt one of the highlights of our travels. The location is unparalleled. It is simply spectacular. Above and beyond the natural beauty however was the warm and kind atmosphere created by the amazing hosts. We felt more like we were in our own dream home than simply tourists passing by. The food was delicious, some of the best we ate in Kerala. If I am ever lucky enough to get back to Valiyaparamba I know where
i will be staying.

Amazing stay, hospitality and great homecooked food served at Avisa. Well kept, neat and clean room. Bathroom was sparking clean and the location is just fantastic! Sandwiched between backwaters of Kerala and the beach on the other side, it truly was a very calm amd peaceful setting! The sound of the ocean in the evening and morning was 👍. The dinner and breakfast was delicious and Satish was also very knowledgable and gave us some tips on routes to be taken within the local areas for our onward journey. We just wished we were able to spend more time here instead of just one night.

Avisa Beach House is a great place to stay in Bekal considering the budget , location and quality food. We visited in May 2018 and stayed in Sea View upper floor with separate balcony.
Pros:
The staffs as well as the owner Mr Ajish are very polite and courteous. 
Sea view from balcony was great.
It `s far from the hustle and bustle of the city , so you`ll have a quite and beautiful natural surrounding.
Provided checkin early morning 6 AM.
Breakfast is mostly south Indian ,but fresh and good. Also you can ask for bread , omelette .
No specific bar and lounge , but they provide alcohol on your request.
Beach and back water is in stone throw distance. 
There is a small shade made by Avisa in sea beach where you can sit for long hours without any disturbances.
Cycling facility is there with a good road where one side is back water and other is sea.
Very nice tender coconut grown inside the property.
Nice options of non veg food with great care towards freshness and taste.We tried fish, tiger prawns , chicken and all including the Dal tadka was very nice. As the food is prepared in house so you `ll get the warmth of home cooking.
Even after our checkout in morning 10 AM , they provided us an extra room with no extra charge to stay till evening 7 PM as my return bus was around 10 PM.
Cons:
Hotel is far away from main city and will cost you more if you are taking the auto from the hotel. But if you are driving on your own then it `s not an issue.However , I would like to say the auto driver who was with us is a very nice person.
Room is quite small and for A/C it is charged extra. However, during our stay in Month of May also we did not feel like using an A/C.
Though the food is very nice , still if someone looks for buffet then its not available.

So with these details mentioned I would strongly recommend Avisa a good place to stay in Bekal and would like to rate 4.5 star.

Budget,location and quality home cook food

Avisa Beach House has really been a wonderful and amazing place to stay. We were welcomed warmly by the wonderful staff who made us feel relaxed and pampered throughout our whole stay. The beautiful ocean, seen from the sea view cottages, is a delight. The staff was excellent ever attentive to all aspects of our needs. The whole ambiance of the place was amazing. Peaceful get away.
I think there are much to the surroundings than the place itself, though it’s modest and serves the purpose.

Carry your alcohol and stuff as they don’t serve any. The beach front is bit wild and dangerous hence if you have any intention of getting soaked, prepare to walk for another one Km.

It ticks all the boxes of a beautiful place with beautiful people in a simple, natural, peaceful environment. This is a homestay experience where freshly prepared food is served with love. Everyone is eager to please and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you Ajish for yet another memorable stay and Satish and the rest of your staff have been amazing. Looking forward to my next visit.
