Very tastefully done up place ,with excellent service . Fine balance of French and Tamil cultures. 

It has a nice swimming pool too, which was a surprise, and the location from the beach is less than 500 MTR walk. 

All around all wonder cafe's and restaurant, it's quite at the heart of the white quarters.

A perfect choice to stay

We were a family  of 15 staying at this sweet villa . It’s at a vantage point as far as location goes . 5 min from beach . N in the French quarters . It’s a great place to stay if you have a big group . Big rooms ( except one ) a small cute pool for kids ( n a good prop for pics ) , lazed out open spaces for evening chats , top floor for a chatty dinner . The chef is good n catered to our odd hour requests . The owner Roshan is an excellent host . He is there to help you out anytime . We did our city tour also with him . La Closerie is a perfect place to stay with friends and family .

Sweet French villa in French quarters

This place is so beautiful, every corner of the hotel is nicely done. It has a wonderful ambience and is a perfect place to unwind.  We had the most relaxing time at this cute little hotel. The staff is super helpful and polite, so is the owner. I would love to go back! 

Serene and cosy! 

We stayed there for 5 nights. The first impression of the property was just amazing. Very beautifully designed property and so peaceful. A must recommended stay for any age group. The breakfast is also simple and tasty. The ladies who were serving us breakfast were all so friendly and polite. We loved Viji, she was really friendly and always smiling. These type of things really did make our stay pleasant and happy. We were looking for a peaceful trip and we got it. Thank you to the entire team who takes care of that place. 
We will definitely visit this place again.

Amazing hospitality and great rooms.

This place is beautiful and peaceful and filled to the brim with gorgeous antiques. What makes it even more special is the staff. They’re fabulous! Friendly. Kind. Genuine. And ever so helpful. Love this place because of them, so special shout out to our chefs who made a delicious brekkie and the security guard for watching over me while I fed the dogs at night time and Bala and Nadia for making our stay so wonderful. Home away from home

My wife and I recently spent the month of Feb 2019 in Pondicherry staying at La Closerie. La Closerie is ideally located to the town beach (probably 2 minutes walk) and benefits from being in the heart of the French White Town Colonial quarter so all the restaurants, cafes and shops are easily accessed, in addition to the main monuments and park. 
Similarly, it is well located to the main shopping districts and the rest of the town. Auroville and the tourist beaches are a short tuk tuk ride away. 
The property has a clean, contemporary feel with a small pool (not common in the town) and plenty of airy spaces to rest or relax so there is an overall feeling of calm.
Louis, Bala and Nadia provide great customer service as well as their housekeeping team. A good and varied breakfast is provided. As a villa type property there is no restaurant, but there is so much choice around that it doesn't matter.
Rooms are spacious, clean and cool with some nice furnishing.
Overall, La Closerie is a great place to stay and as a base to discover Pondicherry.

Great location and a calm relaxing atmosphere

On my business trip I wanted to stay at a good place near the main areas of attractions and cafes. So chose to stay at this French property. It was beautifully done with all modern amenities. The room and bathroom was clean. The breakfast was disappointing  with only bread butter and fruits.

They helped me hire a 2-wheeler.

Luxury and more

Complete colonial house and feel like u went into back to 18th century! Nice home, architecture, nice staff but for food i ll give 0 point. Breakfast not at par with normal basic level, but yes staff is so helpful. If u are looking for complete hotel stay then big no, its a home not a hotel!! But i love it

This Hotel looks preety, but the service offered is not that great.They sell you Rooms with breakfast (its compulsory), but the ladies(caretakers) here don't serve breakfast which they are supoose to, they don't offer much, they offered us only if we asked, unfortunately we went out to have breakfast , so its a "loot", there are no jet spray in the toilet's which is uncomfortable for some travellers

The rooms are way to expensive for the service offered, just because the place has a pool. the rooms are also pretty small and conjusted.

Preety but not recommended

The place looks very artistic . But facilities are lacking. There is no health faucet in the toilet. Apparently the owner is an European and didn't want it. But one should mention this in the site if you are only toilet paper friendly.
Basic amenities like drinking glasses, kettle to heat water are lacking. And the irony is there is no one around to ask. Understaffed and poorly managed. 
The only positive is the location but there are hundred others in the same budget that provide much better value for the money.
And surely better service
