Had a 3 night stay in hotel,the hospitality was overwhelming and food was delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful.. The best part is that it is located on the mall road which is prime location of Shimla.Would love to recommend this property and will definitely visit there again.

Awesome experience..!

Hotel Samrat Regency is situated opposite government lift on the mall road. One has not to climb or walk much to reach this hotel. This is only plus point of this hotel. The tariff is reasonable too. But do not expect much from this hotel. Rooms are ordinary, small, old and without fresh air. Service is average.

Easily approachable hotel

We stayed only 1 night in Shimla while returning from Kalpa, Sangla & Chitkul trip. We checked in this hotel on 05-04-2018 and checked out on 06-04-2018 and then left for Amritsar for 2 more night stays. We were 6 persons in total and booked 3 rooms in this hotel. Position wise it is in a great place, just opposite to the Mall road lift. The hotel is on the mall road and surrounded by markets, a very busy place.  We booked it from Make my trip. The rooms were very small in size. We stayed in 4th floor i.e. top floor and the hotel do not have lift which is why the aged person were in trouble. Though the top view was superb.

Mixed experience in Shimla

The main plus point of the hotel is its location. It is located on Mall Road and just opposite to lift making it very convenient to reach here. It is a a small hotel with no extra space.Rooms are situated on second floor and are small and boring. Only super deluxe rooms provide some comfort and outside view from window. I like to stay here again and again because of its location and its tariff which I feel is reasonably priced.

Great Location and Reasonably priced

We booked through a travel operator (which we have learned from) and were here for 2 night. 
Location was awesome - right at the top of the Mall so can walk through at night and easy access to lift to main road. This was about the only positive
Did have english movie channels

Rooms were freezing cold  - windows and doors dilapidated and rotting.
Bedding seemed dirty and unwashed
no hot water in the morning and no water pressure at all
Breakfast was included - and made to order. No matter what you order you will be delivered a cheese sandwich and a plain omelette - even when we learned from the first morning and went down to reception to point out to the menu we got a complexly different order. no point complaining - no one speak a murmur of english
We tried to order a chicken sandwich instead of cheese when they said they couldnt do cereal - we got cheese.
We didnt eat dinner here - mainly because of the breakfast experience and otherwise because it was warmer to eat a takeaway under the covers in the room and hope to sleep from food coma to combat the cold.Based on the breakfast I wouldn't lick a stamp in this hotel so certainly not paying for dinner.

Its more of a one star. appreciate its probably different in high season when its warmer and they offer buffet service and perhaps turn on heating for water but this as my impression. Would never stay again - plenty of other hotel in front at same price with much better facilities.
