We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stays here. The  approach through the forest builds expectations and when you reach the property at the side of the lake you can't be disappointed.. There are two single story blocks housing the accommodation and a double storey building on the site of the original property which houses the dining area. The rooms open onto a balcony facing the lake providing a great vantage point to enjoy a cup of tea whilst watching the wildlife. Web took the pedals out for a trip across the lake and waved at the children living at the side of the lake. 
The room was comfortable with a good sized bathroom. An additional power socket would have been helpful.
We thoroughly enjoyed the food - dinner and breakfast. Staff were attentive and welcoming as well as informative about the property and the wildlife. We were sent on our way with a freshly picked papaya!

Magical setting

Although located near Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, one needs help from the proprietors to reach the destination. There is a short drive on a dirt road through the forest to reach the destination.
The journey through the forest, set the mood for the stay. whistling ducks in the catchment area, the call of the wild hen and the orchestra of the many different birds added magic to the stay. The little pool was clean and well maintained and the rooms clean and comfortable. Every room has a little balcony with a view of the water in the catchment area.(this water disappears when the Bhoothathankettu dam shutters are open) . 

If you have your fishing rods with you, its a great place to fish. The little trek into the forest was exciting and fun. Even though we were a noisy bunch we got to see a some birds  and some deer. The pedal boat was good exercise and sent the whistling ducks flying and whistling, only to come and sit on another side of the water body. Being silent is the best way to enjoy the resort. The sound of the crickets, the frogs and the birds make the place magical. Also NO mosquitoes.

The resort has a kitchen without a menu. Food has to be ordered at the time of booking.The pork chicken and beef we had ordered were cooked Kerala style and extremely delicious.They also allow us to cook our meals if we feel more comfortable that way. Bacon, sausages and ham are available on request. Two of the rooms share a little kitchenette, and it will be very convenient for those who travel with their own cooking devices.

Overall, the stay was money well spent. Good times, good experiences and above all great memories!!!
