We stayed at Woodside Lodge for two nights in September during a real hot spell in Ireland. The room was comfortable and the location quite.
Westport is quite a large town and so it was good to be a 15 minute walk away so we weren't bothered by noise.
Breakfast was a stand out; cooked by Patrice, (a French gentleman).
He also gave us some great travel tips.
Helen was also very friendly.
Thanks very much to you both for making our stay wonderful.

Best breakfast in Ireland

Fabulous place!  Very welcoming and comfortable house, room and beds, exceptionally good breakfast with a vast selection, very friendly, fun and helpful hosts, all in a beautiful house!  Would never stay anywhere else in this area!!

Fabulous B and B!

A beautiful, tranquil slice of paradise, just a short walk from the bustling and historic town center of Westport.  It also sits along the scenic 43 km Great Western Greenway hiking and biking trail.  This is the B & B jewel you are always looking for.  The rooms are clean and cozy and the breakfast is delicious and offers many options.  The owners have vast knowledge of useful local travel information.

We had a lovely stay in Woodside Lodge last weekend. Just a few minutes away from Westport town. The bedroom was so spacious & clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast on both mornings was to such a high standard. Helens homemade apricot and cranberry scones were a real treat and granola bowl was full of fruit and so colourful. Patrice’s omelette was also simply delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return the next time we visit Westport.

Lovely stay, amazing breakfast!

I used to live in Westport 10 years ago and whenever coming back, I'm staying with Helen and Patrice. I just love the Irish-French flair, their hospitality and their huge hearts. This time, I came all by myself but the two of them recognized me directly and made me feel like I am at home from day one. 

Helen upgraded me to a large room, way too big for myself. In the end it was perfect, as I was working remotely for the week. The bed is extremely cozy and I slept better than I have in a long time. My room was equipped with a little kettle, tea & coffee and bisquits – also very handy for working from home. 

My highlights were of course the homemade breakfasts, including the full Irish and delicious fruit yogurt. They have the best tips for restaurants and pubs, so I got to enjoy live music almost every night – what a beautiful town! 

Woodside Lodge is ideally located, it's literally just around the corner from Westport House and The Harbour. Westport House is a beautiful area for runs and walks and the harbour as well. From there, there is also a direct bus to Croagh Patrick (Murrisk), the holy mountain. I can highly recommend a sunrise hike up there. Just keep in mind to wear gloves, a headband and ideally a Goretex jacket. It can get really windy, but it's worth for the experience and the view. 

Now on my way back home to Germany and already missing my second home in Ireland. Thank you so much Helen and Patrice for everything! You're the most lovely people! 

Helen & Patrice turned my Solo Trip into a Family Stay ☘️ 🏔️ 💚

Helen and Patrice are wonderful hosts.  Stayed 4 nights for probably 4 or 5 visit to their B and B in Westport.  Rooms are perfect and parking is in front of front door.  They will suggest dining locations and even call the restaurant and schedule your reservation.

My mom and I had such a magical experience at Woodside Lodge with Patrice and Helen (and their yellow lab, Belle)! They were the most gracious hosts... and the house is beyond gorgeous as well! They welcomed us with open arms and made our stay even more enjoyable than we ever could have wished for... Patrice makes delicious smoked salmon and eggs and Helen's homemade scones are to die for! The room was very comfy and cozy and we felt right at home. I hope we get to travel back to Ireland again and you better believe Woodside Lodge will be on our list of places that we would definitely stay at again and again and again.

Great B&B within easy walk of Westport bars and restaurants. Took us 15mins on a dawdle.
Owners are passionate B And B owners and have achieved a high standard.
Welcome: 9/10 explained sights and touring routes with enthusiasm. 
Property: 9/10 Well presented. 
Parking: 9/10 some trees overhang and a little tight but V good off street. 
Beds: 10/10 vv comfortable
Lounge area 7/10: comfortable seating but tv and sky not working. 
Location: 9/10 easy walk to town. 
Breakfast: 10/10, not your average fayre. Superb. 
Hosts: 10/10 Patrice and Helen are welcoming and engaging hosts with a wealth of knowledge on the area. 
Overall: 10/10, would we stay there again? Absolutely. 


B&B Properly Done

We stayed for 3 nights in a nice large room.  There's fresh drinking water, tea & coffee maker in the room, as well as a hair drier.  The bed was ok, with soft pillows and a wonderful comforter.  The WiFi was good.  Breakfast in the morning was wonderful - cereals, yogurt, juices as well as eggs, fresh scones, croissants, tea, coffee, and porridge with Bailey's! (what?! amazing!)
The house is a short drive from town, which makes sight-seeing easy.  Helen & Patrice are both very friendly and easy to talk with (be careful if you have plans lol).  I think our only issue may be the parking situation - it's a bit tight.

Comfortable Stay in Westport

Helen and Patrice are a warm, friendly, and humorous couple. Their hospitality, breakfasts, and suggestions made my two night stay with my father an excellent experience all around. The rooms are comfortable, tidy, and warm. The entire building is well suited for a B and B. The breakfasts were simply put incredible. As always, the hosts make a place great to stay and Helen and Patrice did this amazingly.
