We were well looked after nothing was to much.  Even the dog welcomed us and wouldn’t let us leave.  Would highly recommend this B&B to anybody.  Parking is good too it’s off road so you won’t be worried about it being bumped.

The B&B has a very welcoming family setting with tea, coffee, cake and biscuits served all day; you fell like it’s your own living room, watching TV and relaxing. The rooms are comfortable and the hosts engaging and well informed about activities in the local area.

Silvermine is a very small village with a nature trail and 6km round trip hike and vista point. I had a wonderful time and plan to return again. A visit is strongly recommended to those who want to find a taste of Irish country life.

You will love this B & B if you are looking for a small Irish village, and a genuine Irish experience.  

It is a small village ... so if you go for a drink at the pub, you will be the only tourist !
Your hosts at the B & B, are lovely .... it is rural, and on a previous visit here, I found myself helping to herd cattle down the road .....

Your room is clean and warm, don't come here expecting 'Hilton Hotel' standard.

I love this B & B, as there is a downstairs breakfast room / lounge with an open fire, which your hosts will cheerfully light for you.  Pure bliss to sit and watch TV in front of the fire .... & / or, browse the internet ... the wifi is reliable and decent !

There is also a small fridge, so you can store (a little bit) of food, and also a microwave so you can do a 'heat and eat' for tea.  There is also a toaster and kettle.

Experience real Irish hospitality ....

We had three rooms in this guest house ten minutes drive from Nenagh.  Pat and Helen are extremely welcoming – offering us tea and fruit cake on our arrival.  Two of our rooms were en suite and the third had private use of a bathroom.  We had use of a sitting room which had a fridge, microwave and television.  We were pretty self contained.  The breakfast was very good.  The guest house was very good value for money perhaps reflected in the standard of the rooms (which were clean and comfortable nevertheless).  Unfortunately we did not get to try the pub.  You do need to drive into Nenagh for food.  Internet access was excellent.

Very good value in a tranquil village

I have just returned from a 3 day visit to Silvermine's where we stayed with the lovely Helen and Pat. Helen could not have been more accommodating if she tried. She was warm and friendly, offering tea and cakes as soon as we got through the door. She provided a full Irish breakfast each morning and at a time that suited ourselves which allowed us a lie in or to be off and out for the day. Our room was comfortable and warm and I had a lovely bed which allowed for a great nights rest. My view was incredible and each morning I sat for a good half an hour looking out onto the surrounding green lands. The location is excellent. She get the full experience of a village in Ireland yet are close enough to nearby larger towns. Parking was easy and Silvermine's has plenty of nature walks and history to keep us busy. I highly recommend Hillview to anyone, first class hospitality.

An authentic irish experience

When I booked this b&b I done what most people do read the reviews I was travelling down to do a basket weaving coarse and would be out all day when I arrived I was offered a cup of tea and cake which I thought was nice the cake was wrapped in cling film and it was hard not wanting to complain I said nothing. I asked the lady what time breakfast was at she said whatever time you want I don’t do it I’ll leave everything out. So the next morning I went for breakfast there was tea toast cornflakes the milk I used on the cornflakes it’s sell by date was almost up .On the second day it was slightly better the milk had been changed .Yes the lady that runs it is a nice person but there’s not much effort on the photos of her property it clearly shows a photo of a cooked breakfast the reviews are a few years old and things have changed .The rooms are clean

A let down

Rooms are offered here on booking platforms, but the lady doesn't want to rent them out. Then you generally shouldn't rent it out if you don't want any guests! It's a shame because I would have liked to stay here for 2 days on my tour.
But there are other accommodations where you will receive a friendly welcome as a guest.
