Stayed there during our hike of the Dingle Way. Nice B&B with comfortable, clean and quite large rooms. Quite and good location near Kruger's pub. Excellent breakfast and very kind host. Can only recommend 

Very nice

We had an amazing and memorable holiday in Dunquin and An Portan. Ger and Ronan are so accommodating and kind. Their knowledge of the area is second to none. The rooms are clean warm and comfortable. Breakfast is great. Best of all An Portan is situated in one of the most beautiful places in Ireland. A definite favourite for accommodation and location.

A wonderful location

Lovely stay here after a very long walk. We had dinner reservations for 6:30. We call to let them know we would be late. Were told "no problem." Arrived at 8 pm at the restaurant closing time. We were treated to a delicious salmon and vegetable dinner and delicious desserts. Excellent Inn. 

Highly recommend.

After a grueling hike, our party sat down to a delicious salmon dinner (even though we arrived after the restaurant closing time).  The rooms were cozy and spotless, with very comfortable beds.  The staff was very gracious.  Would highly recommend.

Great restaurant and rooms

An Portán was a wonderful 2 night  stop - we  highly recommende it for the accommodation lovely breakfast and dinner. Krugers pub is 50 m and there is an hourly bus to Dingle. The ferry nearby to the Blasket Islands is a wonderful experience weather permitting.

Just returned yesterday from a 2 night break in An Portan.  What a find! Beautiful well equipped rooms with tv, ensuite and tea/coffee making facilities. Spacious double bed and probably the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. It was a very wet and cold weekend in Dunquin, and Geraldine had the heating on, so overall a very cosy stay.  Very well run establishment, you pre-order a home cooked breakfast the evening before, and select your time to dine. The breakfasts were beautiful. I had homemade blueberry pancakes both mornings, which were huge, tasty and very filling. My husband had the full Irish and was also a happy customer. There was cereals, fruit and juices self service. And plenty tea/coffee, toast and brown soda bread provided. We were well set up for the day. If  you wish to have an evening meal there's also a menu, but we didn't partake as we were in Krugers Bar to watch the Cork match. An Portan is literally just across the road from Krugers Bar, so very convenient for a pint. It also has lovely views of the Blaskets, just a shame the weather was so bad for us this weekend that we couldn't see it. But I would definitely recommend An Portan and we will be returning hopefully in sunnier dryer days.  Full marks.

Gem of a Spot

While walking the Dingle Way, we were fortunate to book the last room at An Portan.  An Portan is very health (Covid) conscious with measures in place.  You are situated in a small village. There is a nice pub across the road or An Portan also offers food and beverages. The rooms are very clean, very comfortable and well equipped. We had dinner and breakfast at An Portan. The foods are delicious and reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly, efficient and helpful. I would definitely reccoment.. 

An excellent find

We stayed here after a surprisingly long day on the Dingle Way. The town is located just off the way, but a helpful local pointed us in the right direction. The woman who checked us in (who also served dinner, and breakfast, and checked us out!) was very friendly. The room was comfortable. She gave a great recommendation of pizza at Kruger’s pub, but then also served dinner to us and some other guests when we discovered that the Kruger’s chef had gone home!

Great spot in a pretty village

I have brought a few painting groups to An Portan over the years, and once more, it was a great success, due to Geraldine and Ronan's warm welcome. They will do anything to make our stay more pleasant and are very easy going. The bedrooms are very clean, warm and cosy. The food, only if you stay, is cooked freshly with the best of local products by Ronan and is delicious.
Planning to visit the Dingle Peninsula?Don't think twice, stay at An Portan.

PAINTING RETREAT

Highly recommended. I spent 3 nights here on a photo trip of the surrounding Corca Dhuibhne peninsula and it was the perfect mobile base.

Food was great. Price was great. Lots of parking space. Lovely and quiet. Lovely beaches and scenery. Staff were lovely and had great chats with them both as Béarla agus as Gaeilge. 

Couldn't ask for more with the price I got and looking forward to getting back there next year.
