Recently walking some of the Dingle Way I was booked to stay at Morris and Tomas' Guesthouse. The day was slightly wet, a storm brewing in Cork, and in UK, so arriving wet and blown through the front door, welcomed with hot leek and potato soup and homemade brown bread to die for! After warming up, the night unfolded in the pub, and then everyone rallied around and we watch the Rugby cup All Blacks game with a local Cronins cider (from Co.Kerry) and huge portion of dinner.

Comfy bed, & warm rooms with amazing views out over the three sisters, and down towards Brandon Creek (google this for history).
Amazing breakfast spread the following day, with local yoghurt (I downed it all) from "Dingle Farm" in Beag - friends of Morris.

A welcome retreat on a blustery day!!

The location is about 12 km from Dingle and a great place if you're walking the mountain passes or just want to enjoy the beautiful Kerry countryside. We were there for the Friday night when they had traditional musicians in so we had a great night. I hope you like it as much as we did.

Excellent location, wonderful food, very friendly staff. Cozy dinner by the fire was superb. They were SO accommodating with a difficult circumstance that I had! Thanks so much.  We'll stay here again! 

Fantastic people and food!

I used the accommodation here, when I walked The Dingle Way by myself. An Bothar Pub and Guesthouse is an absolutely stunning place to stay.  The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. I had amazing view from my window. The bathroom was spacious  and ideal  for relax after rainy day with very strong wind. I came to Guesthouse completely wet and the owners dried all my things (incl. shoes). As I was walking and had no car, I ate at the restaurant, the dinner was excellent. The breakfast was prepared by the owner based on my choose, what I wanted to eat. The owner gave me the direction how to continue in The Dingle Way. I would like to recommend An Bothar Pub to any travellers, especially to any walkers on The Dingle Way. 

Clean room, delicious food, friendly owner and perfect stay...

Had dinner in an bothar last night and the food was amazing.  Delicious crab claws to start with and the most perfectly cooked steak that I have eaten in a long time. My wife had chicken wings for starters which were lovely and a beautiful fillet of fresh hake for mains.  Excellent service too.
Also Muiris serves the best pint of Gunness around.


Fantastic dinner

An Bothar Pub and Guesthouse is an absolutely wonderful place to stay.  It is run by a family who could not be more friendly and welcoming to their guests.  The rooms are quiet, clean and comfortable.  Since we were hiking and had no car, we ate in the the small restaurant which was bustling with customers.  The food was really good--just what we needed after a long day of hiking.  The owners have musicians 3-4 nights a week so we stayed after dinner to listen to some lovely Irish music and watch the patrons dance!  It was really fun!  We went to bed before the music was over and could not hear the band from our room.  The breakfast the next morning was tasty with lots of options to choose from depending on what you want to eat.  We would most definitely recommend An Bothar to any travelers on the Dingle Peninsula and would most definitely stay there again on a return trip to Ireland.

Wonderful place to stay!

I stayed there when walking the Dingle way, and had a wonderful stay! The rooms were very comfortable, breakfast was tasty, and best of all was the staff, who went out of their way to help guests and make them feel welcome.

Great place !!

Such a gem of a place! The nicest family run this beautiful guest house, it’s our second time here too but we stayed longer this time. 
Views are beautiful, breakfast in the morning is always served fresh and with a smile and always such a selection. 
The fish and chips was something special! 
Our favourite part was the little guest lounge upstairs as you can sit and have tea/coffee whilst taking in the views. 
Excellent place to be ❤️

Home from home

We truly had an amazing time at this lovely guest house and pub tucked into the Irish countryside. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff, especially Morris and Kat were the friendliest and most attentive we encountered on our trip. Morris was even thoughtful enough to arrange for my niece to bottle feed some of the lambs. The pub is small and intimate and dining area large and serving excellent food.

Can’t go wrong here!

We didn't stay at An Bothar, but we enjoyed the pub twice. It's a classic, but with great food and even better, very friendly service. Cait waited on us both nights and was wonderful. whatever else you eat, (and the roast of the day has high recommendations, although I had prawns and noodles, a new favorite), don't miss the fruit crumbles and local ice cream. I'll be back.
