The valley house bar and restaurant is constantly excelling itself every time we dine there. The staff is oozing charm and friendliness in equal measures.we our friends and us just love to dine there the dining room with its high ceilings and elegant approach is a delight to say the least.
The place is steeped in history .
That' makes it a unique and very special place for us.
The politeness of the hosts is amazing and very forthcoming.
And then there's the menu in its simple approach jet tasty and heavenly there is dishes for every taste .,executed to perfection . it is honestly a delight to dine in 
The valley house and we hope that they have great success.
Thank you for a wonderful experience to all of you ,keep going 

Amazing venue with fantastic food

I would like to thank the chef and waitress and all involved in the lovely dining experience that we had in THE VALLEY HOUSE PUB RESTAURANT/ HOSTEL.  The food was amazing and the company who shared the experience with us was also delighted. I would recommend anyone who's in achile visiting or driving through to visiting this place . Booking is required at times but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and atmosphere. Definitely a place to go during summer months. Thank you 😊 

Super delicious food

We had an excellent dinner at Valley House.  Afterward we sat in the sitting room to listen to the Irish music being played in the pub.   The manager engaged us in conversation about places to hike on the island that were within our capabilities.

Excellent Food

WOW! WOW! WOW! What a fantastic place! Food was amazing, Burgers Wings fish and chips stir-fry were all top notch. Accomodations were the best, all the staff were curious attentive and professional. Music was incredible nice variety throughout the week. We will be back. Thank you Valley House for a great vacation!

Best vacation

Very very happy we decided on the Valley House as I was nearly put off by some of the recent reviews because this place is a total gem. The food is fantastic, staff are friendly and attentive and the music was a treat. It’s nice and close to Dugort Beach, which is a lovely place for a sea swim and sauna with a beautiful view and amenities. The Faerie trail is a cute lovely touch too and we’ll all definitely be back next time we’re on Achill!! 

A lovely gem tucked away

We visited Nov 22 with a group of friends. The owner Pat was excellent and very friendly to deal with. Rooms were clean, warm and secure; we were very impressed with the facilities. For the cost it was well worth the visit. The bar was a tradional irish bar and the Guinness was 100% . This hostel is well worth a visit with friends or family. Thanks Pat for a great weekend

Best Hostel in the west

Just back from a three day break at the Valley House in Achill.  We had a beautiful, stylish, en suite bedroom and a very comfortable bed. It was super. Continental breakfast in the lovely dining room. Creamy pints of Guinness in the bar and great music. Super time had by all. Can't wait to go back.

Weekend in Achill

Just had a four night stay, such a comfortable, friendly, fantastic place to stay. We loved it from the minute we arrived. So relaxed, staff super friendly and a great little bar with wonderful entertainment. Definitely had the best pint of Guinness ever. Well done to all the staff doing such a great job. Looking forward to returning. Highly recommend.

A gem of a find

We stayed for 5 days in the valley hostel and we had a ball! The bar was great craic, lovely food and the staff are so helpful and friendly! 
The beds are very comfortable and there’s charging ports for each bed so no fighting over sockets! 
Bathrooms are pretty modern and a good shower too! 
( also provided with towels) 

I’d highly recommend and I will be returning!

Amazing place!

Had a most comfortable and happy stay at the Valley House. The occasion - my daughter's 40th. We stayed in the main house, a gem of Victorian times which wears its great age with grace. We were warmly greeted by our host who wasn't a bit perturbed that we wanted to hit the bar for a breather after a long journey from Dublin before we went to our rooms. The bar in the Valley House is special. A turf fire and very friendly barman helped us down from the 5 hours drive. (We stopped for lunch. Our rooms were fine, adequate for our needs. 
The Valley House is special. It's not the first time I have been there but the first time I have stayed. The house, being gently ushered into the 21st century, by Pat and Alice, is a small treasure. It has some very fine features,.large reception rooms, huge fireplaces and some original flooring. It's like no other 'hostel' I have ever known. 
We had a ball. I think it's safe to say we all had a ball. Great place for a party. Warm and welcoming hosts, lovely bar staff, great music sessions, and yes .. there's a fairy trail in the ground. We didn't venture this time.
