Great People: Michael and Joanne were warm, caring, and thoughtful hosts, and the beautiful dinner made by Joanne was just what I needed at the end of 22-mile hike. Michael's warm humor will make your day.  They also made sure the room was warm enough. 
Clean, Comfortable, and quiet Room: Exactly that and the relaxing hot shower was heavenly. 
Tasty Water: From their own well. 



Kerry Way Oasis

Mike and Joanne Grady were wonderful hosts and we very much enjoyed our time at the Rowan Tree Inn during our walk around the Kerry Way.  They were very helpful with our wet gear and very hospitable with a warm cup of tea on arrival.  We called ahead and also were given a delicious evening meal.  The room was spacious and clean.  We also very much enjoyed the full Irish breakfast, as well as fruit and yogurts.  We highly recommend the Rowan Tree Inn when you are in Glencar!

Very nice B&B with wonderful hosts.

My daughter and I stayed here while walking the Kerry Way. We felt well cared for. We arrived late, soaking wet, and so tired after walking more than 32 kilometers. Michael and Joann's daughter picked us up and brought us back to the B&B. We were warmly greeted, shown to the drying room to get out of our wet things and then shown to our rooms to get cleaned up while Michael prepared a truly delicious salmon dinner for us. Our room was simple but had everything we needed and we are really glad we experienced Michael and Joann's hospitality.

wonderful hosts

Hosts Mike and Joanne were so pleasant and welcoming! After multiple BnB stays on our walking tour, it was great to sleep in a very comfortable king sized bed. Joanne prepared the best food of the almost dozen BnBs we stayed in Dingle and Kerry. Well done Joanne! It was super clean and quiet and located on a minor road. 

A hidden gem!

We really enjoyed this place.  If you have the good fortune to go through Glencar (we passed through hiking the Kerry Way), I'd highly recommend it.  The nearby Blackstone Bridge and Lickeen? Forest were really lovely (think JRR Tolkein).  Michael the host was very friendly.  The food for dinner was delicious, truly one of the best meals we ate in Ireland.  The setup for a B&B is really good, offering good access to the common areas without infringing on the family's private areas.

Very friendly and accommodating

I stayed at several B&B's around Kerry during my 11-day walk of the Kerry Way. Michael at the Rowan Tree was one of the best innkeepers I met along the way - I loved talking to him over breakfast. The rooms were a decent size for Irish B&Bs, with nice tea-making facilities and a comfortable bed. Because of the remote location, I also dined at the Rowan Tree. Apparently, all Irish B&B owners serve hikers salmon and apple pie dinners. I was on my third salmon dinner by the time I reached the Rowan Tree and it was such good quality, I actually enjoyed it!

Great innkeeper!

After 10 nights walking the Kerry Way, Mike and Jo Anne's B&B remains our favorite.  They have lovely (high quality) accommodations and plenty of charisma.  We had dinner with them and it was perfect.  A lovely sitting room off the dinning room reinforces the real life of rural Ireland.  Mike provided a quick chat before departure.  Hard work to run a B&B and these guys make it look easy.  Thanks so much.  Highly Recommended.

Best in class

We had a very wet day on the Kerry Way and Michael went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, right down to stuffing our boots with paper.  Good breakfast and some fun conversation too.
We recommend!

Lovely stay

Our second stop on the Ring of Kerry left us getting in much later than we anticipated, and innkeeper Michael went above and beyond and we think any American traveling to Ireland should meet him as he is sure to take great care of you. 

The rooms are simple but lovely, and the inn is located in the middle of Glencar, which is already in the middle of a rather empty stretch of Ireland.

Incredible innkeeper and lovely home

We stayed at Rowantree while doing the Kerry way. Mike was an excellent and friendly host, and our room was bright, clean and comfortable. We were unable to get dinner there in the end but Mike dropped us to the local hotel where we ate instead. Excellent breakfast the next morning
