Conveniently situated to explore the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, Galway City and pretty places such as Kinvarra and Traught Beach, this was a great find. The grounds are stunning and the large thatched house is very prettily painted, and warm and welcoming inside. Lovely host Kathleen has created a beautiful peaceful environment in which to totally relax. The beautiful lounge has comfy sofas and many interesting books to browse. The whole house is beautifully appointed. The bedrooms are large in size, very tastefully decorated and our bed was very comfortable. We had lovely views across the stunning countryside, and across the river towards the famous Moran’s restaurant. An excellent feature is the kitchenette available to use, where we could help ourselves to tea and coffee, and delicious breakfast items left for us by Kathleen, at our leisure. We would definitely make a return visit!

Stunning property in idyllic location!

An absolutely stunning little spot that was more than we could have hoped for. The building, a gorgeous thatch cottage with a spiral staircase perfectly blend rustic and grand. The room came with a handy little kitchenette and a great shower which even came with its own sauna feature. What I though was best though was the location, 20 mins away from Galway city, 20 mins from the idyllic Kinvara, amd 5 mins away from the best little oyster house in the country.

A spot of excellence

We stayed for three nights in this exceptional B&B. The house is beautiful both inside and out. The thatched roof and the country house design along with lovely grounds set it apart from many other places.  We had the large “rose” end bedroom, which is equipped with a day-bed/sofa, large bathroom, a high curved ceiling, many windows with spectacular views, dressing table, chandelier and spectacular views and extremely nice decorations. It also had an infrared sauna and steam option for the shower, which we did not use. The other rooms are smaller but also nice.  There were also a lot of nice touches such as filtered water, bathrobes, toiletries and reading material in the room.

As others have mentioned, breakfast is quite good - fresh berries and other fruits, a small assortment of cheese, meats and cereals, plus eggs cooked to order and it is served in a lovely room.  Service is excellent. Kathleen will also make a reservation for a table for dinner to Oyster Mannon Restaurant – highly recommended.

•	We found the bed too soft although others raved about it’s comfort

•	There is a cat on the premises – caution if you are allergic to dander.

We were wowed by Kathleen’s beautiful home and surroundings, which she allowed us to share for our two-day stay.  Our room was beautiful and I don’t even think it was the best one! She kindly booked us a local restaurant for our dinner on our first night.
A generous and kind host with a lovely black cat called …. Blackie. On arrival, Kathleen greeted us warmly with tea and homemade cake! And continued to spoil us during our two day stay.
Her breakfasts were sublime!
A very reasonable price for the luxury.  We recommend without hesitation.

A beautiful B&B

As we drove up the road in the beautiful countryside we were immediately gobsmacked at the enchanting site of this thatched roof b&b. The grounds are beautifully kept and the rooms are exquisite. 
Kathleen is a marvelous host Ann's made us feel immediatemy at home. 
We are already planning our return visit.

Enchanting

Upon arrival, we were just enchanted by the beauty of the thatched roof B&B. Wait until you get inside!  Kathleen greeted us and was so welcoming!  Our room was just beautiful and the living area and dining area were spectacular with gorgeous antiques I really enjoyed talked to Kathleen about.  She was so very helpful in directing us to areas of our interest.  The breakfast was wonderful as well.  Such a relaxing and beautiful property I hope we get to visit again some day.  Thank you Kathleen for a wonderful 25th wedding anniversary stay in your wonderful home and your gracious hospitality.

Wonderful stay at the Weir Haven

Beautiful interiour with lots of unique pieces. The rooms are very cosy and comfortable as well as the dining room. Kathleen, the owner is a warm and wonderful person who makes you feel so welcome and home. The food is extraordinary, all fresh and made with love. The house is embedded in an absolutely beautiful garden. Paradise itself.

Wonderful beautiful unique house which makes you feel like home.

After a frosty start through our  travel agents cock up.  Things got a lot better,    The room was fantastic, bed so comfy really slept well.   Breakfast hamper supplied in our room where we had our own small kitchenette to prepare this ourselves when we were ready: which we liked.  Amazing lounge, full of antiques, to use in the evening with an open fire.    

2 night stay 

While on holiday and travelling across Ireland we stayed at Weir Haven for 3 nights. What I had thought was going to be the highlight of our trip turned into a running joke.

We arrived at Weir Haven after hiking the Burren for the better portion of the day and were excited to be able to relax and unwind. The grounds are beautiful and I had been so excited to stay in such a fairy tale house. We were met with less than a fairy tale.  Kathleen was not the most gracious of hostesses and at times was downright rude to my husband and I. Perhaps our Holiday hiking and exploring was not high class enough for her or perhaps she just has a general disdain for Americans, we will never know. We had to ask to use the sauna in our room which she had to switch on from the kitchen. Now, I understand questions about our health needed to be asked, however the tone taken and the rudeness of the questions while we are both clearly in good shape was unnecessary. We were then told not to sweat everywhere or move off the towels or touch anything. Wow, thanks for that. From then on, we were scared to do anything within the house. 

Breakfast was a joke and consisted of cereals, plain yogurt and berries and a basket of white bread toast. Tasteless, dissatisfying, and when we were asked if we would like eggs, we asked politely for some fried eggs. My eggs had turned and were clearly spoiled. So as not to embarrass her in front of other guests, I sought her out privately and let her know so it wouldn't happen with another guest. For a little background, I have been a professional chef and in the food service industry for 20 years. I have been an executive pastry chef in a 4 diamond resort for the last 3. I also raise chickens and know what a spoiled egg smells and tastes like. I know when food is spoiled. She proceeded to argue with me and tell me there was no chance they were spoiled and didn't know what I was talking about. 

From then on, we just decided to leave the house as early as possible and spend the entire day out and not return until about 10 pm to go to bed. Not really how you want to be made to feel when paying for "luxury accommodations." Kathleen became known as the Storm Cloud on our holiday as it would rain and storm every time she was in the same vicinity as us. 

The room was lovely, but we wish we could have enjoyed it more with a bit of a warm welcome instead of having to avoid the accommodations we paid for due to a rude disposition by the hostess.
