This was the 3rd time we stayed here. We'd only booked 1 night but had had problems finding rooms spontaneously in Ireland so arrived 2 nights early. Lorna sorted us out with a gypsy caravan and then their own mobile home on the second night, as they were full in the house. This is a unique place where you can get involved in musical evenings - I ended up playing guitar, with a lovely German lady on Hammond organ. You also feel part of the family. On my last night I stayed up chatting till midnight with the hosts, who are fascinating people. Lorna noticed I had the sniffles so gave me some herbal remedy. My teenage son had hurt his knees and mainly stayed in his room, so Lorna made him free of charge hot chocolate to keep him happy. The family, helped by various continental staff, are 100% themselves with all the quirks they have - there is nothing artificial. As someone who spends most of his time travelling and staying at corporate hotels with a corporate personality, this is incredibly refreshing. It can all get a bit vague and chaotic, but that is the whole charm. The motto of the place should be 'it will all be all right in the end, and if it is not yet all right it is not yet the end' (stolen from the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel). I'm a massive carnivore, so the vegan/vegetarian food is not my natural choice, but it is done very well and is fresh from the garden. If you like standardization and the corporate, this is not for you. Personally, I love it!

Eccentric and friendly

Just back from a 3 nught stay here. Big into sea swimming and this place is the ideal location with an abundance of beautiful beaches and coves  to chose from close by. We received a lovely warm welcome, rooms are spotless and bed was really comfy. It's also dog friendly which meant i could bring my little Malshi with me on the trip. Restaurant was closed as it was off season so ill definitely have to come back to try the food. We were however allowed to prepare our own food onsite which was ideal for us. If you are lucky Kim the son of the owners might play the piano for you. Such a treat! IThis place has a really cool eclectic vibe which I love and staff that will go out of their way to ensure yiu have a great stay. Would definitely recommend it, ideal location for travelling around Kerry.

Love This Place

If I could give this review more that 5/5, I would. I stopped here for lunch with friends on the way to Dingle after noticing the sign. The entire experience was just amazing! The staff were incredibly friendly, the location was lovely and we were free to roam around the gardens, and the lunch was absolutely perfect. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and we all agreed it was the best lunch we had ever eaten at a restaurant or cafe. They grow their vegetables in their organic garden next to the b&b. The coffee was also great, served in a large stovetop moka pot. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, if you’re passing and want a relaxing, peaceful place to have an amazing lunch them this is where to visit!

Perfect Vegetarian Lunch

Stayed here for two nights in one of there old style caravans & found the stay really relaxing, we were greeted with a warm welcome and were shown the on site facility's and were we were staying.
The caravan was very compact with a double bed and two narrow single beds but I found it very comfortable.
This place is a vegan and vegetarian establishment which I'm a am neither but the food was delicious.
Location wise it's a 10min drive to the beautiful Inch beach and a 30min drive to Dingle.Excellent value for money and also dog friendly.Would definitely stay again.

Really relaxing

The rooms are eclectic, the gardens beautiful and the food sumptuous. Lorna Tyther is an extraordinary chef and know just how to stimulate your palate.  There is often Trad music on the weekends with Local Musicians.

The Best Vegetarian and Vegan food in Ireland.

The Phoenix B&B is an amazingly cute little place in a very scenic part of Kerry. Lorna and her family provided the most warming and welcoming service we ever experienced. Dogs and children are welcome, too! We had a super nice little room that even had a separate space with all kinds of toys and puzzles to keep our little one busy. Bathroom and beds were spotlessly clean. The breakfast in the morning was amazing - homemade spreads, delicious bread and the best omelette in a long time! Price was really reasonable. Favorite day trip destinations like Inch Beach and Dingle just a short drive away. Hope to come back soon :-) Thank you!

Fabulous little B&B!

Stayed two nights in these lovely restored Romany gypsy caravans. Staff were friendly & helpful and accommodating for our dietary requirements. Lights left on out at night so you could sit out and enjoy the summers nights which was nice. Temperature was fine for the time of year. Ended up getting another booking as a gift for some friends as we enjoyed it that much

Gypsy Carvans!!

I arrived with my boyfriend on the day of the world cup final. In the car park we were  met by two beautiful dogs(obviously already a winner). As we walked into the cafe we were welcomed by three wonderfully kind hospitable wait staff - Kim was out waiter and told us we could have any free table we wanted. AND the world cup was projected onto a big screen(So himself was delighted). The atmosphere immediately was welcoming and kind. 
The food used is home grown on the land they have (for the most part anyway) 
I ordered the Mexican fajitas-best thing I've ever eaten in my life. Himself had 'Spicy Pesto Pasta' which was also amazing. 
I would highly recommend this gem of a place. 
Amazing

A charming friendly gem

We finished off a 3 night hotel break in Sneem with 1 night at the Phoenix. We (2 Adults and a ten year old) stayed in one of the Romany Caravans and really enjoyed it. The hosts were very welcoming and the breakfast the next morning was exceptional, we were sick of fry ups after the hotel.  It's not luxurious, more of a vintage/boho experience but as we usually camp in a tent it was a great novelty.  Lovely end to our trip to Kerry, thanks to the Tythers and friends!

Lovely Stay in a Caravan

We stayed in the gypsy caravan for one night. Beautiful setting, lovely gardens with an eclectic style. However we arrived at 5pm and our caravan wasn’t ready (check in 4pm on website). My husband and I were offered tea/coffee but my children were not offered anything. There was a power cut that day which may have slowed things up but in the middle of it all they were out the back celebrating a family birthday so I wondered how much this had stressed them out. Although we re not vegan or vegetarian ..I expected a lot more of the breakfast for a restaurant that is renowned for its menu. My husband and I had an omelette which was nothing special and bit greasy. Kids had a pancake that was swimming in syrup which they didn’t eat. On checkout I couldn’t pay by card as the WiFi was bad or power cut issues not sure which. I wasn’t asked did we enjoy our stay or anything about our travels. I ended up paying on PayPal which was fine but this was after about 15 mins of trying to connect the card machine. Although there are awards outside most date back to at least 4 years ago..it suggests to me that the standards have slipped..which is disappointing. I loved the fact that dogs are welcome too but couldn’t help notice that there are no gates on the property ..the b&b is on a main road ..I think this needs to be highlighted to guests as not all dogs have road sense like the resident dogs there.
