Enjoyed our stay in this part of county Sligo. Wonderful breakfast. Comfortable clean accommodation.  Hosts were extremely helpful and knowledgable about the area. The town is quiet but does have a wonderful Italian restaurant.

Great

We stayed for the Sligo camino. Really handy location, easy to find and in a lovely quiet spot with good car parking facility. Cannot thank Liam and Mary enough. Nothing was too much trouble. The bedrooms were spacious enough for all our additional walking gear and the bed was super comfy. Spotlessly clean and everything you could possibly need. The full irish breakfast was delicious and a well stocked fridge to help yourself to. 

Bella and Brava Italian restaurant is a must visit, voted best Italian  in Connaught for good reason! We would definitely return here to stay again. Liam was very knowledgeable about the local area, offering tips on what to do. Thanks again for a wonderful stay Liam and Mary.

Fantastic stay

My wife booked this place just to spend a few good days around Sligo that will be away from the noisy city. And it was such. Did not have a an itinerary to do things. We ended up with a wonderful time. David was a wonderful host. Not only did he welcome us like a family, but also guided us about the various places we can visit, things we can do and places to eat at. Enjoyed our trip all around

Coolaney, Strandhill, Mullaghmore, Glencar, Knocknarea and Drumciffe Trip

5 of us decided to do the sligo camino at the beginning of July, as the official walk was cancelled due to covid, we went ahead and booked the Mountain Inn in Cooloney. From start to finish Liam and Mary made us feel very welcome, gave us tips on other areas to visit and helped arrange a taxi for the 2 days walking we planned. Homemade soup and soda bread greeted us on arrival, as we were looking for somewhere to have dinner that evening, they suggested Molloy Fultons near Sligo, great choice by the way. Taxi arrived are as arranged and dropped us in Dromahair and picked us up at Slish Woods ltr. On arrival back they had the heating on so that we could dry out our clothes. The rooms were very clean and well decorated, plenty of room and had ensuite bathrooms and tea and coffee making facilities.
Next morning we had a very large breakfast, to big we had to ask them to tone it down for the following morning, they offered to make us tea and sandwiches for the day, but we refused that offer. We had the evening meal booked with them consisting of steak and the works, well again there was plenty for 5 hungry adults, homemade desserts followed and some bottled beer was produced. Last morning again breakfast was very tasty and plentyful.
We would highly recommend the Mountain Inn as a stop off for anyone doing the sligo camino or sligo way.

Went out of their way to help

We stayed 3 nights here for a wedding close by in Sligo! It was great value, breakfast all three mornings were lovely! Mary and Liam were so welcoming and had the cutest dog that we all loved! The bar was old school and pure country, sing songs and all! Would definitely recommend to a friend! 

Great stay!!

Mary greeted us and showed us to our rooms, we had one double and the a twin which had a double and a single bed. Really lovely with loads of room. Spotlessly clean. We did not go to the bar but enjoyed a full Irish breakfast which was delicious.

Wonderful views, lovely large clean rooms

The room was very nice. We had a view of the nearby mounts and plenty of space for two people to toss their luggage around! The breakfast was delicious and the owner of the inn very hospitable and helpful.

Quiet and hospitable

We arrived a bit tired after driving all day in the rain, although the scenery everywhere was spectacular. We weren't sure what we were going to do for dinner and asked for suggestions. Mary gave us a few but she could see we were tired and told us that she was picking up Chinese food for other guests and if we'd like she would be happy to get us food as well. We said Yes. She came back with the food, set us up in the adjacent pub with silverware and plates! And we had a Guinness to accompany the food. Liam, Mary's  husband was the gracious bartender. Our friends stayed late in the pub and mingled with the locals. Mary also arranged for our Seaweed Baths, at a spa,which were incredible. Breakfast was wonderful! We would definitely return here!

In August we stayed in the Mountain Inn (MI) in Coolaney, nearby the newly created mountainbike trails (Coolaney MTB trails) of Coillte in the Ox Mountains. MI host David had a warm welcome for us, a Dutch family loving to go mountainbiking outdoors. The Coillte trails feel like a ski resort, but then adapted for MTB fans. Black, red and blue tracks available, depending on your MTB skills. You will be awarded a great view over the oean.
