Fabulous stay. Warm and welcoming host Sile( Sheila) , who couldn’t do enough for us.
Breakfast was amazing, lodge was spotless .
Great location for a wedding we attended at Harvey’s Point ( fab too)
Dinner at  Biddy O Barnes , 2 mins away by car, was first class! A pint of Guinness there is an absolute MUST!

Fab B&B ! Highly recommended 

The Lady owner is both very friendly and informative. The B&B is very clean and tidy with a lovely breakfast room that provided an excellent choice including fresh mixed fruit. 
The room we were in was a good size and like everywhere else was very clean and comfortable. 
One small issue we had was that the sheets were washed in a scented liquid (possibly lenor) that my wife found over powering. 
However this was an issue that wouldn't affect the vast majority of people who would stay at this  excellent B&B.

Bed and breakfast near Donegal, beautiful place to stay!the room was clean and confortable!!!the best was the breakfast…pancakes and bread homemade, fresa fruits and yogurt!!!recommended if you pass to visit this zone of Ireland!!!!!!!

Wonderful

Oh my goodness, what a wonderful experience.  Have not really used many B&B places, and it's hard to know what to book, but the reviews looked good, so we booked.  We were met by an Irish ray of sunshine, Sheilagh who runs The Gap with her 'behind the scenes' husband, Charlie.  This venue is beautifully decorated and cleaner than an operating theatre!  The small attention to detail (too many to mention) added to our wonderful stay.  Sheilagh has been in  hospitality for over 30 years, and it shows.  Our room and ensuite was lovely.  Brand new bathroom, and comfy bed and doona (duvet).  We looked out the back toward the green hills and the sheep.  Talk about idyllic.  We slept very well, and woke to the best B&B breakfast we have had.  Not a thing out of place.  Great free range eggs and bacon and more, including fresh fruit and yoghurts, and delicious breads and all the condiments you could hope for.  BIG telltale thing about the care that's taken (and it's no big deal for me) but every jar and bottle of sauce/honey/mustard etc was clean as a whistle.  As I said the care and professionalism with The Gap really stands out.  This place is booked pretty solid by many return guests, so if you want to stay in the beautiful north west of Ireland near Donegal, get in early.  Get Sheilagh to tell you the story of the old couple who spent many years returning there as guests.  Brings a tear to your eye and shows what a people person she is.  Can't recommend enough.  

BEST B&B in North West Ireland!

This is an excellent place to stay!  It was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Very quiet. Adequate and easy free parking, easy to find. Near a nice restaurant with good meals. The breakfast was excellent. Best of all is the hostess, Sheila. She is kind and friendly. We changed our travel plan based on her advice and are forever grateful.  I would definitely stay again and highly recommend. We noticed a tour driver also staying here — that says it all!

Great Lodging

The Gap Lodge B and B is situated on a busy road just 10 minutes drive from Donegal Town Centre. I wasn't able to book this in advance online so I called Sheila several months ago and she reserved a couple of rooms for me. There is ample place to park your car. The property is immaculate, in fantastic condition, its very clean. The rooms are very spacious and no problems at all with the beds and showers. Breakfast is provided and Sheila is a magnificent cook, we all had a cooked breakfast alongside delicious fruit and cereal options. Sheila also gave us valuable advice on places to visit she is a wonderful lady and an excellent host, we felt right at home. This is a must stay place for anyone visiting Donegal. The view outside is also very special. Thank you for looking after us.

A very charming and very friendly host- Sile. Super tasty breakfast - very clean and good sized rooms with TV, coffee & tea and toiletries.  Close to Donegal Town, Lough Eske and a good start to the North West. We will definitely stay at Gap Lodge again.

A home from home

Immaculately clean home. Warm and friendly hostess. Nothing was too much trouble.  Splendid breakfasts.  Easy to find, great location for exploring the area. Loved it.  As an amputee, I was delighted by the shower /wet room. This was (perhaps weirdly!) the cherry on the cake for me.  Its the little things 🙂

A very pleasant stay whilst at a dance competition in Ballybofey. Sile was an excellent host. Room spotless and an excellent breakfast (baked smoked salmon and scrambled egg recommended).
Would highly recommend Gap Lodge for a comfortable and quiet stay.

Very pleasant stay

My wife and I are not B&B people.  But my brother, tasked with booking accommodation in the area, booked it based on the reviews.  It's in the middle of nowhere!  We don't do B&Bs!  But how wonderfully wrong we were.  This place is the real deal and sets a standard by which all B&Bs should be judged - even those costing far more per night.  Sile (pronounced Sheila) has a long pedigree in the hospitality business and has brought all that experience and know how to bear to create a real 'home from home' feel to the Gap Lodge.
You cannot teach what this woman knows.  From a variety of very high quality breakfasts to  similarly high quality bed linen plus an attention to detail that is second to none.  I could go on but if you are staying in the area, let Sile, a genuine 'people person' speak for herself.  You will not be disappointed,
