Not my first time in Amirim, but certainly the best one. The hosts were very warm and welcoming, the shower was great, a large lobby to spend with friends and plenty of books to borrow, especially in Hebrew but there were some in English also. The breakfast was all handmade, vegetarian and healthy, and the view from the balcony is beautiful. Plenty of places nearby if you are with a car. We stayed  for 3 nights and didn't want to leave.

Very pleasant stay

I knew nothing about Amirim before I arrived, but as a vegetarian of more than 40 years, I was delighted to find a whole little town dedicated to us.  Honny Boutique Hotel was, indeed, hard to find -- call the host before you get to Amirim.  She'll help you out.  The room was pleasant, and the breakfast was absolutely wonderful.  I loved this place -- it isn't elegant, but it's awfully nice.

Delightful

We arrived but couldn’t easily find the “Honny Boutique Hotel” because it didn’t have a sign or shingle or board in front and there was no numbering on the street and we didn’t have an Israeli phone so couldn’t call them. After a few unsuccessful attempts we found the building and I went in and it was devoid of guests or anyone. Finally a neighbour took me back in to look for the owner but couldn’t find her while another called the owner. I was told that it was obviously my fault for not ringing them in advance – in their opinion it was not there problem for not having a sign or house numbering but my fault for not having online software used in Israel or an Israeli phone!

The Honny Boutique Hotel is really a Guesthouse with 7 rooms and a dinning room in which our very pleasant hosts - yes they were very nice people - served a large and delicious breakfast. Unfortunately breakfast starts at 9.30 so I expect that Honny as targeted at servicing Israeli tourists who just want to lounge around all day rather than international tourists who want to get up early and start exploring Israel. Most hotels have breakfasts that start at 7 for the convenience of the guests rather than at 9.30 for the convenience of the proprietors.

The room was equipped as advertised on their website. It had a nice outlook on the valley with the lights from Tiberias and surrounding villages twinkling. Alas the light in front of Honny was so bright that it reduced the visibility and enjoyment of watching the night lights (unless you held a hand in front of your face to occlude the offensive bright light – a light sensor would service both Honny and its clients’ needs).

Our sleep was shattered at 5am both mornings when the automatic watering system went on directly in front of our verandah. And getting back to sleep didn’t happen so we had to wait around till 9.30 for breakfast.

I didn’t bother mentioning to our hosts the problems that we had with the TV or the watering system or the light issue as they already thought putting up a sign saying “Honny” was beyond their obligations and that a 9.30 start too late a time for a hotel breakfast.

There is also no hotel parking and guests have to walk up 12 steps with their luggage which didn't suit us on a long international holiday with much luggage.
