This is a gem of a place. We stayed in the apartment as 2 families of 4. The apartment was spotless, warm and cosy. It had everything we needed. Breakfast was served 8-10am and was perfect. Ambra is a wonderful host, couldn’t do enough. All we needed to do was ask if we needed anything. We will definitely return. This has been our best ski holiday as a family, the snow was great and Champoluc is just perfect.

Perfect stay!!

B&B Le Vieux Rascard is located on a hill with a beautiful view of both the village and the impressive mountain, about 10-15 minutes walk to the Crest lift. Clean and tidy with cleaning every day. A hearty breakfast buffet with local products is served every morning. Together with the warm and friendly welcome of the helpful hostess Ambra, it makes Le Vieux Rascard a top choice for a stay in Champoluc.

Top choice for a stay in Champoluc

Stayed here recently with friends and family for a weeks skiing holiday. It is situated a few minutes walk from the centre but there done very good bars and restaurants very close by.
The rooms are not huge but they are spotlessly clean and comfortable. Ambra, who runs the accommodation is a real gem. She could not have been more friendly and helpful throughout the week. She also provides a brilliant breakfast. A huge choice of breads, meats, cheeses, cereals, eggs, yoghurts and cakes etc. set you up perfectly for a day in the slopes.
If I return to Champoluc I would want to stay here again and I recommend it very highly.

Perfect place to stay in Champoluc

This is the third time we have stayed here and would not consider staying anywhere else.
Ambra, the owner is so lovely and makes our stay so easy. We always stay in the apartment downstairs. It was sparkling clean on arrival and well equipped. There are so many hooks and a massive walk in wardrobe (wish I had one at home) - sounds trivial but when you are skiing, you can't have too many places to hang all your kit. The appt is lovely and warm, and very spacious. 
Ambra was so helpful - the kids asked for sledges and she got some for them. She booked restaurants for us too - she seems to know everyone! She also recommends the ski shop - called Telemark near the gondola for hire and storage. They were amazing - lovely people who speak most languages and would even do your ski boots up for you each morning - fantastic service.
We love skiing in champoluc and definitely enjoy staying here. Looking forward to our next visit!

A perfect gem - our third stay!

Ambra is the host of Le Vieux Rascard and made us feel very welcome and was also very helpful. She speaks excellent English. The chalet is up the hill and about 10-15 mins walk from the main lift in Champoluc. Ski boots are left in lockers in all the ski hire shops so no need to walk in ski boots. We enjoyed walking up behind the garage through the old village buildings to reach the b&b. Our room was snug, old fashioned, clean and mostly warm enough although the heating seems to be a little unpredictable. We had a large double bed made of two singles, made up with sheets and blankets. We had plenty of wardrobe space. We had views down the valley. The bathroom was basically good - plenty of hot water in the shower. Breakfast was plentiful - ham and cheeses and fresh breads, yoghurts, great coffee and so many different cakes.  There is off road free parking too. Back into the parking space if you can so you can roll out in snowy conditions - it’s on a slope!

Helpful host - old style b&b

Lovely lady running a small place (6 rooms). Up above the beautiful old village. A 10-15 min walk to the ski lift - a healthy warm up! Basic rooms and a very Italian breakfast with mostly sweet cakes and cold (?) eggs... however excellent coffee!

Great place to stay

Cosy and friendly place to stay if you are content with the basic and cold rooms.

The owner is very helpful, however the room were extremely cold. We went with Ski2 and I believe the price we paid was not justified.

Ski holiday with family

Despite very earlier booking, with 4 months in advance, we got a very tiny and dark room, with a wall that separate the room from the small restaurant. The wall is from wood, no phonetic protection, so very noisy in the morning when everyone is taking the breakfast. The room is no 2, around 4 square meters, without the dark bathroom, and is designed for 1 person and not 2 persons as is sold. 
The second room, no 5, is a medium one with balcony, and even if it’s not wall in wall with the small restaurant, also is noisy.
Both rooms are very cold, around 20 degrees in the room and even when we asked to get some heat was for only, maybe, one hour. Not to mentioned that outside were around -17 degree, so the need for warm is quite required.
So, all in all, I do not recommend to anyone the place. 
We left in the following morning after we arrived.
