We had an exceptional meal at this restaurant.  The outdoor seating felt as though we were in an arbor, as we sat beneath intertwined branches of two trees.  An awning provided additional shade.  

The menu had descriptions of its offerings in Italian, German, French and English, so they obviously serve diverse clientele.  One person waited on all the tables.  While the service wasn't fast, we were in no hurry, nor were any of the other diners we observed.  The food, however, was fantastic.  I had a sage ravioli, that was advertised as freshly-made on site and tasted like it.  It was a wonderful combination of flavors and an absolute delight.  

We were fortunate to find this place, as it's slightly off from the main square of Menaggio.  Look for it; you will be glad you did. 

Pleasant Surprise

It was so clean and the owners are so kind, friendly, helpful. The location is perfect. Everything is nearby. The dinner was delicious and the breakfast was simple but good enough. 
We spent there 3 nights. And we would like to go back any time.

I visited Lago di Como with my love.

We stayed in Il Vapore for five nights and it was blissful.  Pinuccia and Simone are warm and welcoming and they run a lovely hotel and restaurant.  The room was spotlessly clean with a balcony and beautiful lake view.  The location could not be more convenient and central.  We had no problem with noise since there is no passing traffic – just conversation, which is quite soothing.  The wifi was good and, when the temperature dropped in the evenings, the heating was welcome and effective.  We hired a bike and Pinuccia stored it safely for us overnight and provided a strong chain for us to keep it outside if we needed to during the day.  We will certainly return!

Springtime in Menaggio

Top value family-run hotel in the heart of Menaggio, but quiet as well.  
Nothing swanky, but rooms have comfy beds. And if you choose to eat either inside downstairs or in the wisteria-hung terrace, (with beautiful lake view) the food is honest and good value. Breakfast is an extra 7 euros, endless coffee, bread and jams etc. The lady who runs the hotel is an absolute sweetheart. Menaggio seems less overrun with us tourists than say Bellagio or Varenna - so hoorah for that!

Lovely

I stayed here for four nights in late October 2019.
I was running a little late due to traffic and phoned ahead to inform them of the situation. No problem. The hostess Pinuccia was most welcoming. During my time there she was most helpful in answering my questions and with advice on parking, laundry, buses, restaurants. In fact Pinuccia could not do enough to help out - she was fantastic.
The location is right on the main square and it was a short walk to the ferry. and buses.
Due to the time of year the 'season' was pretty much over and so it was very quiet and easy to get around. The downside was that some restaurants had closed or were operating on reduced hours.
The region is simply stunning and I wish to return again.
I would stay at Albergo Il Vapore again - no hesitation.

Great location, very friendly host, great value

Hotel was in a great location right on the square.  Very picturesque with the flowers and vines growing on the front.  Rooms were tidy and pleasant.  The restaurant was lovely and great atmosphere sitting outside under the vines.  Bathroom was small and the shower was slippery, but on the whole it was great value for money.  Close to the action and transport such as buses and ferries to explore the area.

Good Value

Everything about our stay at Albergo Il Vapore was perfect. Pinuccia and Simone were lovely. Very friendly and great hosts.
The room was large with a shower and balcony with fantastic Lake view. It was cleaned everyday with new towels also provided daily.
The restaurant downstairs was great with fantastic food always served with a smile. 
All in all a great trip to Lake Como. Highly recommended, We would definitely stay again.
