We have celebrated the New Year in this lovely agriturismo and can't wait to go back!!The location is perfect, plenty of parking space, near to the lake  and the town Montefiascone. GianLuca is a charming host and the staff are helpful and friendly. The apartments are all warm, modern and well equipped and spotless.  The area offers good walking, great food and charming towns.

Charming family friendly country house

We have organised a weekend with business colleagues + their families (8 adults, 5 children). Everything was taken care of perfectly by Gianluca. Abundant meals cooked by his mother and aunt. Rooms are cozy but large. The wellness area is properly equipped and even child friendly. The perfect place for a countryside-styled unpretentious weekend.

Friendly atmosphere in the Latium countryside

Very nice agriturismo, well equiped appartments with parking space, beautiful view on Montefiascone & Viterbo, friendly helpfull staff ; large pool with plenty of seats and bedding allowing for relaxed sunbathing and swimming. Good wifi. Great place in the wonderful Bolsena Lake area in the Tuscia region that offers plenty of opportunities for interesting visits in a close neighbourhood. Rome & Orvieto also within reasonable driving distance. Regards to Gianluca & staff from our family.

Wonderful location

We have just got back from a lovely week away in our favourite part of Italy! Simona was such a charming and lovely host and nothing was too much trouble. She really did help us out and made the holiday extra special. The settings are gorgeous, the pool and it's views are stunning and the location in Italy is top of our list! I have visited many agriturismos in Italy and this is one of the best yet!!

Excellent agriturismo

We visited many many agriturismos, but Poggio Di MontedOro is an absolute topper!! Beautiful authentic Italian houses, good beds, perfect kitchen and a great clean swimming pool with lightning to swim at night! And the owners try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The moment GianLuca reserves a restaurant for you, he also makes sure you'll get the best table by coming there. Excellent!! Eating in Lazio: pasta with truffles: €8, pizza tonno chippolla: €5, uno litro vino rosso de la casa a pizza ristorante Roma: €4!!!
And the location: we made a trip to Rome, Orvieto, Viterbo and of course we were in the historic Montefiascone and had diner at Lago di Bolsena.
One of my best holidays ever! One week giving more relaxing time then 3 weeks in summer! Thanks Poggio Di MontedOro!!

The most excellent holiday!

We booked through a Dutch agency (Canaliniblu) who, first of all, changed the name of the agriturismo on their website to make sure they get the commission but you are unable to find it! 
 
They didn't provide a correct adress, neither the correct name of the place after booking through them so no one could help us find it. We did have a telephone number of the owner so we called Gianluca who, by the way, speaks very poor English. He did his best to give us directions but the directions were not very helpfull.
 
After asking, calling with Canaliniblu in Holland and driving around for about one hour we finally got there. The owner greeted us upstairs at the reception with his wife and daugther.
After getting settled we had to register and got a bottle of wine and some marmelade which really was a nice gesture.

The house (casa Maria) is situated at the foot of the hill near the entrance of the agriturismo. The house is small, simple but clean. (although we found a mouse trap inside which gave us an unpleasant feel.)
 
The kitchen lacks a water cooker or kettle so we had to cook water in a pot to make tea. The kitchen is not very well equiped (seen from a dutch point of view).
 
The house has spacious bedrooms. Bed: our matras was hard and had an old sheet on it which was very unconfortable. Fortunately we got an extra sheet which we used over it.
Our friends daughter slept on a folding bed and complained about the mattress being so thin that her back hurts.
 
The dining area inside is nice but not very comfortable; wooden benches and chairs without pillows. Especially when you have to stay inside all day because of the bad weather.
 
The agriturismo is built on a steep hill which makes it very hard for people who have problems walking. It's also on a very busy road so you hear the traffic in Casa Maria. It was not safe for our dog to run around as the grounds are not fenced, so we had to keep her on a leash constantly.
 
On our terras there is a BBQ area but it is for everyone to use which is very inconvienient. You do not have any privacy and can't leave your wet laundry outside to dry because of the smoke.
 
The house was supposed to be big enough for 7 people but don't buy that, it just isn't!!! We visited with 4 adults and one child and thats pretty crowded already. The shower is a joke, so small. Maybe with 3 children and 4 adults it would work for some people:  if you don't mind standing in line in the morning ;-)
 
We did not have internet in the house and a really very bad connection at the reception. My husband who daily needs internet for work was very frustrated. Gianluca promissed to get it fixed next Monday (we arrived at Saturday) The satelite tv failed as well and was supposed to be fixed also. Apperently they had problems due to lightning earlier that week.
 
Due to all of this and the bad weather we went home 3 days earlier than planned (and payed for). We did not have to pay for cleaning the house, which we appreciated.  By that time they tried to get internet and satelite working. On our last night we got an accescode for 1 device (There was 5 of us!!) and it looked liked the internet functioned. I really hope so for the people who will visit it after us....
 
We are not very positive about this agriturismo. It just didn't meet our needs but it might be a good spot for people who do a lot of sightseeing in the area and only need a place to sleep in the evening and for an hour to relax at the pool.
