Liked everything about Casa Mario. Got a deal through booking.com without breakfast but the spread looked good. Convenient location midway between train station and main piazzas. Very nice, quiet, large room with a comfortable bed and good shower.

Great one-night stay

It was my worst experience ever. I had reservation in another hotel in Padova but for some reason couldnt stay there and needed place for 2 nights urgently. I was with my kids, we were tired, so I booked this B&B from my smartphone without reading reviews carefully as I usually do.  The overall score and nice pics convinced me that it's a good place for me and kids for 2 nights. 
3 out of 4 rooms provided in this B&B (actually it's an apartment and owner lets some rooms) are on  a VERY noisy street with heavy traffic even at 1 am. We couldn't sleep there because of noise and lack of oxygen, I tried to open the window once I entered the room since there was an awful smell of some disgusting air freshener which was just asphyxiating but due to all that noise, CO2 and mosquitos and wasn’t an option to have the window open. It was shared bathroom so you could observe hair inside the shower in the morning.
The owner and his guests were smoking inside apartment from early morning. We woke up to the terrible smoke. For this reason we didn’t even have breakfast on the 2nd day, just ran away and went to the city center to buy something to eat because kids were hungry. The owner asked me to return the key at 10 am despite the fact in his own rules check out time is at 11 am. When we came back after breakfast (was 11.03) I found the room with my packed luggage wide opened since they started changing bedding and cleaning the room right after we left. I find it absolutely INAPPROPRIATE, it’s abuse of all rules of privacy and hospitality. 
I warn you from booking this place. Reviewers who find the breakfast “good” probably stayed in shelters for homeless previously. Awful experience. Pity for my money.

Good location - very close to Padova train station. Amazing Brazilian restaraunt BOM BOI is just outside. These are the only positive things about this place.

Avoid it. Book any 3* for that price if you want your privacy to be respected,  Asphyxia and extremely poor brekfast

Near the rail and bus station and also the city sights. Brightly furnished and very clean. Comfortable bed. Friendly and helpful host. Our room was at the back so was quiet enough and had a balcony with seating and table. Spacious room and bathroom. Breakfast freshly prepared - boiled eggs, sliced cold meats, dates, sliced bread, croissant, cereal, orange juice, jams, cheese triangles, yoghurt, tea and very good coffee.

Convenient location, clean, good breakfast, friendly host

Casa Mario is a pretty good deal given the alternatives. Its located within 7 Minutes of the train station which can be convenient. Its also quite close to the scrovegni chapel, which allowed us to go there relatively early and still have breakfast before.
Our room was air conditioned, clean and had its own bathroom. The window faced the street which at times was a little noisy.
Mario has his own style, that you can see by looking at some of the photos posted on TripAdvisor. His office room smells a little weird. He keeps radio with commercials running throughout breakfast while also running a large TV in silent mode. The result was sometimes noisy commercials with some travel channel imagery...
The breakfast itself was decent. A good range of food to choose from.

Overall: good value for the price you pay.

You will not depend on the goodwill of the owner!

I asked for a quiet room, he gave us the one on the busy street. No internet access 50% of the time since the signal is weak.

The area after sunset is not so safe because too close to the train station where you can spot drug dealers operating. 

Below average breakfast with processed cheese and low-quality bread. You ask for hot milk, again it depends on the goodwill of the owner who says no hot milk. Same for lemon. 

One good thing: the owner will provide you good hints for restaurants and places to visit in Padova! 

Besides this positive point, I can explain the positive reviews of this place only based on the good looking and role-playing of the owner.

Mario really makes a stay an experience.  He is everything a good B&B host should be.  The location is great within a short walk from the train station and close to the historic section of Padova.  The breakfast includes croissants, cereals, breads, ham, cheese, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, juice and coffee among other foods.  Our room was exceptionally large with a huge bathroom with a shower.  Everything was very clean, and the room was made up each day.  It was a great stay and we hope to return.
