We loved our stay at Terrazza Savoia in Catania. The B&B is conveniently located just a few minutes from the city center and easy to reach from the airport. The rooms (especially our "baroque" room) are amazing. We liked the decoration and all the furniture so much. Very elegant but comfortable and cozy at the same time. There is enough space for clothes, a comfy armchair, a daybed, a table and chairs, so unusual for a hotel room. And everything has been chosen with a lot of care and a great eye for interior design. Good bathroom and a small balcony. 
The B&B has a large terrace full of great plants where breakfast is served. Although it is a bit noisy (traffic) we still enjoyed our breakfast there a lot. It is typically Italian with coffee, lots of sweets, cake and fruit. Kevin, the host, is a fund and super friendly guy. He speaks very good English and has some good and helpful recommendations for things to do and places to eat and will generally go out of his way to help you. We felt very welcome and are really considering to come back soon.
The only downside for some people might be the traffic noise. It can get pretty noisy but that is not the owner's fault. The location of the B&B is in the city which has a lot of advantages but if you're sensitive to noise you might consider bringing earplugs.
Otherwise I can really recommend staying at this wonderful B&B

The best!

We arrive late at night an kevin was there waiting for us. The room was amazing. It had a great decoration. It is located aprox 10 minutes from central station. It is very convenient. The breakfast was very good as well. We would come back to the same hotel is we return to catania.

A,azing barroque hotel

We stayed here not knowing anything about the area. Reasonable distance from the station albeit a bumpy walk with our luggage.
We had difficulty finding the place as it is not sign posted any where. A shop keeper helped us. 
Our room was in an orange retro style which we both love. The bedroom area was a loft accessed by a spiral staircase - very quaint. We had good wifi coverage in the room . Tea and coffee facilities and later in our stay a bar fridge appeared. 
Breakfast was on the terrace which was a beautiful quirky spot to sit and chat. The breakfast itself was way to sweet for our palate but I am guessing Europeans would find it adequate.
Our Host Kevin was a breath of fresh air and was the only reason we stayed as long in Catania as we did. 
If you were to visit this city we would recommend the Terrazza Savoia if you were on a budget as for 4 days we paid 210 euros and you can't complain about that. 
Kevin came with us to a restaurant to help negotiate a take away menu as we do not speak Italian  . As we said he was a breath of fresh air. 

Catania Visit

The hotel is difficult to find. You will not see a sign anywhere. It is located in a block of flats, but you cannot get in unless you notify the host in advance about the time of your arrival. The owner accepts only cash. There is a choice of breakfast which he prepares for you: 'sweet' (a cake and coffee) or 'salty'(eggs, vegetables and bacon). I went for the 'salty' option which was cold most of the time and every time something was missing (bread or bacon or eggs).
The host is very welcoming and warm, though, he speaks English. Heis very helpful with his advice where to dine.
The room we occupied was big with a balcony. By the way, you cannot consume food or drinks in it. The toilet seat was cracked and we were given only one paper roll in 10 days. So, as I said, it's OK for one night, but definitely not for a romantic holiday.
