This guesthouse is far from the city center but it's near the train station and a few convenience stores. Overall, it's a clean and cozy guesthouse situated in a not-so touristy part of Fukuoka. The bathroom is small but dorm rooms (that come with lockers and a terrace where you can dry your clothes) are spacious enough. It also has a full kitchen, a laundry room, a patio and a dining area where you can watch TV over a can of beer. Plus, the staff is friendly so plus points! The neighborhood is quite ill-lit at night but it's practically safe. And I loved the fact that there's a bar near the train station where you can have a drink or two before heading home to this guesthouse. Would love to stay here again if I ever come back to Fukuoka.

A very good guesthouse in Fukuoka!

Stayed here for one night on two separate occasions, this hostel is fine for a quick hop. The rooms are air conditioned but the beds have no curtains, so no privacy. Small shower-room/loo attached to each room is good but a very low ceiling! Friendly staff help out at all points though, and Muromi subway station is reasonably close by.

Fine for one night

I stayed in Hokorobi for 3 nights in a female dorm (4ppl). There were no curtains on the beds so privacy wasn't that good. All thou in some room there were curtains... Otherwise the hostel was really nice and supermarket and subway station were in fair distance. And the place was really clean and I really liked the common area. Location wasn't the best but it so easy to travel by subway so it really didn't matter.

Very nice and welcoming place

Hostel:
Too far, too cold, too dirty, too uncomfortable. The common area was a room with a table and chairs which also was the "lobby" for registration. Staff was ok but really passiv. It was just cold there. In order to save money I guess, the didn't turn on the heat. Dorms are not big. Might be a problem if everybody has a luggage. Bathroom inside the room. It was dirty. They didn't clean although I asked for it. U have to remove the bed linen while leaving.

Location:
Too far.
I thought it doesn't matter if your stay in the subway for five minutes or twenty when u don't have to change, but it does. It is too far. It takes u 30 mins to get to Hakata and cost 300/330 yen one way. It is about 7mins to the subway station. 

You can have better hostels closer to downtown for that money. I was late for booking so I had to choose this hostel.
