We got to see almost every animal we were hoping for and got great pictures of them all as well. The staff has top-notch service and the rooms were very clean and comfortable as well. Couldn’t have asked for a better trip!

Amazing Experience

This camp location, the team, the surroundings, food, amenities, services, safety… quite literally everything was top class! We never wanted to leave.

You never want to leave…

The staff is so friendly, helpful, and professional. This is by far the best camp we’ve stayed at within the Asilia properties. The decor and setting is modern and “Instagramable” for sure! Food and sundowners are high quality. We saw a ton of lions, cheetahs, and even a leopard. Ask for tent #6 and Saruni as your guide and you’ll be set!

Extraordinary experience

This camp was outstanding! Out of the 4 camps our group stayed at while in Africa, this camp was our favorite by far. The staff, service, location, food, and drinks were all top notch. It was amazing staying along the river with wildlife right outside your door and falling asleep to the sounds of the river. The rooms and common space are beautiful and comfortable. The game drives and our guide were great, and we were even able to witness a zebra river crossing. I would highly recommend this camp.

Incredible Camp!

A thoughtful camp in the Mara. Food was great, Mercy made sure all of our needs were covered! Sleeping in a tent surrounded by elephants and hippos was quite the experience. They have 24 hour security to keep an eye on the wildlife! Karia was an amazing guide, who made sure I always had great angle and lighting for the animal shots. He also took some great photos for us as well!!

Right along the river for wonderful views and sightings .

The food is simply fantastic at this camp ! Such a range , always fresh and delicious . You will never go hungry ! They are also very good at catering for people with dietary requirements .

The tents are comfy , clean and well equipped . Flushing toilets and hot showers !

All the drivers / guides are lovely and very knowledgable but most importantly respectful of the animals.

What sets this camp apart is the personal and attentive service they give each and every person who stays there . From the fantastic welcome to making sure all the little things are looked after and no request is too much . Mercy and her team should be highly commended .

We celebrated a birthday in our group which was wonderful with a cake and Masai dancing .

100% recommend and we hope to be back again soon ! Thank you everyone for making our trip such a memorable experience ❤️

The only place you should stay in The Mara !

The campground is situation along the banks of a river overlooking plains. It is THE MOST ideal location for a camp. We saw all the animals we wanted and it was an absolutely amazing experience. I found out that the tents are disassembled during the rainy season to allow the surrounding environment to regrow. I really resonate with the ethos as it protects the natural wildlife. 

The tents were extremely clean and tidy and the food was just spectacular. After the wildlife, I’d say I enjoyed the food the most. The tents have hot water, lights, everything you’d need for a great safari experience. 

Well done to Mercy and her team for a life-changing experience!


Into the wild

This was our second incredible stop on our trip and just as wonderful as our first! SaRuni was the most wonderful guide, and so kind and generous with his knowledge. Even though he does this everyday, he seemed just as excited when we saw the leopard eating the hippo! Steve and the rest of the staff were so welcoming and wonderful. And what a great location on the river. How fun to see the hippos and crocodiles, giraffes and wildebeest, crossing the river as we waited for lunch! Thank you for adding to my trip of a lifetime. I definitely want to come back!

The best trip I have ever taken! 

My wife and I would like to personally thank Jacob our guide & Sushil and all his team for making our stay at Rekero Camp so memorable. The location of the camp is like a dreamy film set, positioned on the bank of a majestic Mara tributary. Having come from a Mara Conservancy, the initial disappointment of not seeing the same density of wildlife was more than made up for by the quality of our game viewings and the stunning scenery. Some of our experiences could well have been as a backdrop for a wildlife documentary! The accommodation and the food were excellent and the communal dining convivial. All in all it was an unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend.
