It was very beautiful when we first moved there in 1990. It was our HOME, we were renting the whole house. My first Son was born there. It was a four bedroomed Home. There are two in the COMPOUND, It was very peaceful and has a lovely Oceanview. I am sad it has been turned into a hotel but I guess it is what it is now. A very quite peaceful area and a short walk to the beach. I just hope the beautiful quiet beach is still clean. 
I have very great memories of that beautiful place. Keep our beach clean. I cannot wait for my kids to visit the place where they were born.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel, very friendly staff, especially Violet at the reception desk and Thorne at the pool bar. The food was ok and not very pricey, the room was very spacious, clean, no air con in the room but we had a fan. The city mall is within walking distance from the hotel (about 10 minutes walk), the beach is nearby too (Mombasa beach and Nyali beach). We recommend this hotel. 

Lovely hotel

Very cool ambiance and a neat environment. The staff is very helpful and hospitable too. It is located close to the beach which is a plus. However, they should do something about the many mosquitoes which are a real nuisance at night

The place is clean, but basic - breakfast is basic as well
Dont expect much
the ocean is hidden because of the a massive structure being constructed next to it
the dinner we ordered was ok
staff were friendly to us - not many guests when we stayed there
the ocean is like 7min walk and its a rocky part of the ocean

Hidden Ocean View!

This hotel is good for short stay and its quite affordable. I have been here before and I came back again for one night with my family. I loved the family room, its quite spacious and directly facing the sea.

Its still a nice cosy hotel

I've had the opportunity to stay here once before and my previous review stated that the rooms needed some work... well its gotten worse. The bathroom area is in dire need of renovations, the shower had very little water and were full of debris. There were no lights and the generator was not working. All in all the price paid did not match the services received. Will I stay here again unfortunately no.

Still only good for its views

I wish there was a possibility of giving zero stars to this place. It was an awful experience. I contacted the hotel to tell them that we’d arrive late because of some traffic issues but they still cancelled our booking. I think they do that so that the guests have no chance of writing reviews on booking.com. 

Anyway, we still checked in and wanted to take a shower but there was no water! I mean the taps were completely dry. After complaining, we got cold ocean water to shower with! They even offered to bring us water in a bucket 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

The shower boiler is a death trap. It sent fire sparks across the bathroom, I almost died of electrical shock! They do not care about the health and wellbeing of their guest. They just want money money money. 

The insects 🐜 🕷 in that place were so many, I wondered how on earth that business is still running. We got itchy skin that affected us even weeks after our stays. They never apologised for those inconveniences. Please stay away from them.

Worst experience ever!

Before booking I wrote and e-mail and specifically asked whether the TV in the ROOMS had DSTV since we wanted to watch our national team playing in the EUROS (football). As I reply “we have DSTV and internet connection”. What a sneaky answer not mentioning “rooms”. When we came they wanted us to pay upfront. We did not think about and paid. When  we went to the room I looked for the channel, it was not there. When the above was mentioned the lady in the reception replied “we dont have DSTV in the rooms and we dont do refunds”. Get lost. We paid 5 minutes ago and they obviously lied just to get money.   There were also no wifi….in the rooms. The toilet was leaking and there were no seat. The room was next to a garage with cars and a lot of constructiong going on starting early (noisy). The shower was cold. There were ants and cockroaches. Just dont go there they are nothing but snakes in the grass.

Worst hotel experience in Africa

This place is horrendous. We were supposed to stay here for 3 nights as part of our international healthcare course of 14 days in Kenya. My professor refused to stay here and we ended up forfeiting everything-- our tour guide paid in advance-- because this place was so bad. I've traveled before and have stayed at 2 star hostels but this place needs to be avoided at all costs. There is no AC and Mombasa in January was 100 degrees. When they offered to put us up in one of the "suites" on the top floor, cockroaches dispersed across the wall as they unlocked the door. Toilets have no seats and are in worse condition than a gas station in the middle of West Virginia. DO NOT STAY HERE!
