I booked Ziwani as a transit to a visit to Moshi.  Someone had been told that its is a quiet boring place prior to visiting so my expectations were low.  I even thought lights would be rationed considering it was a camp.  I was pleasantly surprised when I got there.  I was travelling with my 6yr old daughter and she too loved the place and wanted to spend an additional night.  

We arrived at about 1230hrs and got assigned tent #24 which has a beautiful view of the dam and manicured gardens.  The entire lot is spotless clean and the grass is very well kept.  The river was bustling with animal life.  Crocodiles, hippos, and lots of birds and monkeys.  We only had booked one night and we managed to do fishing and night game drive.  Both were excellent.  My daughter caught a decent sized catfish in her first ever fishing experience.  What a memory!  Thank you Paul for helping her with the fishing.  

We both had our first night safari and our guide Wilson was so good at spotting and narrating.  We learnt so much about animal nocturnal behaviour.  We managed to spot a single rogue elephant bull on its way to the river.  We later spotted a family of elephants.  Other animals spotted were wildebeest, giraffe, ostrich, dikdik, and gazelles.  Unfortunately we were not able to spot any cats.  

Ziwani is so refreshing if you are looking for a peaceful gateway.  There are hammocks around the compound where you can lay down and look up the mature trees.  Or you can relax on the comfortable deck chairs outside your glamping tent.  The dining experience was also great!  A buffet dinner was served outside on the garden next to the lake/ziwa.  The food was sumptuous.  

It felt home being at Voyager Ziwani!   Will be back soon so we can go for the walking safari.  Consider biking safari if you can assess the safety on the trails.

Surprisingly Amazing Place!!!

My stay at the voyager was great! The staff went above and beyond in every chance they got and were extremely helpful and friendly. The tents were much nicer than I was expecting and were very clean and insect free. Overall a great stay and amazing safari with lots of giraffes, elephants, zebras, gazelles, baboons along with many other species.

Wow!  This place is a true paradise. The rented suites are the finest we’ve ever stayed at.  Hippos and crocs in the dam.  So much fun to watch.  Wilson gave us a safari walk that exceeded expectations.  Food was delicious.  We truly did not want to leave.  Right outside the Tsavo gate

Voyager Ziwani is a beautiful camp with large, comfortable tents and amazing grounds. We loved having the dam in front of us spotting hippos, crocs, birds and more. The food was also good and the staff were really excellent and couldn’t have done more for us. We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend!

A really lovely camp with great service

Lovely big comfy tent, great friendly staff, good food and drinks and beautiful lakeside surroundings. 
We enjoyed eating outdoors by the lake.
The hippos, vervet monkeys and crocs steal the show here though.
Would highly recommended this camp.


Stunning lakeside camp

We had a very nice stay in this camp. Staff were kind and attentive, bringing my wife hot water and tea when she fell ill. The tent was roomy and attractive, and I loved the location on a lake. My afternoon bush safari with Joseph was great; he was a wealth of information, and I saw crocodiles, hippos, troops of elephants and baboons, and some lovely birds. The food, while not outstanding, was surprisingly good.

While I do not hesitate to recommend this place, there are two things that made our stay less than perfect. First, the service, while well-intended, was disorganized at times. Second, the lodging is set on a well manicured lawn, a choice that feels jarring in the midst of a drought-stricken region.

Those two minor quibbles aside, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Great location, surprisingly good food

The perfect hotel to stay at for the start of our honeymoon, great friendly  welcoming staff. 

The food has been amazing the best was on our sundown experience the chicken wings were perfect, whilst watching the sunset behind Mt Kilimanjaro with the giraffe meandering past. 

Highly recomended very clean rooms and facilities. 

Honeymoon experience

My son and I had the ultimate experience here for 2 nights and it far exceeded our expectations. The tent and cleanliness were excellent, the food was excellent and the service was excellent. Having an escort after dark was very reassuring and Steven, our walking guide was so interesting and knowledgable. The night safaris were amazing. Thank you so much.

Simply outstanding

Great time!Guide Martine made our safari perfect.it was extremely and safety at the  same time.
Sammy at the restaurant was very friendly and always meet as with a big smile! 
The food is absolutely delicious! 
Tented Camp is very clean and service is very good!
Definitely we will return to this wonderful piece of nature.

Unforgettable stay!

This was an experience  that you'll  never will forget in your life.  It 's an absolutely mystical feeling to sit on a little wooden island in the lake, just opposite mount Kilimanjaro   at sunset, watching the hippos and crocodiles leaving the water and hundreds of little white egrets to find their roosting place  in the old,  all-withstanding umbrella tree. Meanwhile, the bats start their uneasy flight and in the distance you can hear the hyaenas' uncanny laughter. Go there as soon as you can!
