Spent a wonderful week in Old Mariner.  From start to finish we were looked after so well.  Nothing was too much for our host Alexander. From his initial tour and informative chat upon arrival at this amazing and beautiful villa and part of Montenegro to sorting out any issues with had with transport, kayaking, taxi, shops, sights to see we were on to a winner from day one.  

Thanks to Alexander and his two helpful assistants/sons who made us feel so welcome.

Located in front of the most breathtaking backdrop of mountains and sea and close to bakery and small local supermarkets.  

Perfect for those into sea sports.  Everything is available.

Lovely seafood in the local restaurants - take Alexander’s advice of the best ones as he was always spot on.

Breakfast if requested was lovely snd a good idea to avail of as not many places near by for breakfast.

Would definately recommend Kotor for a quiet and magical place

Everything you Imagine

Aleksandar is a very welcoming host in a beautiful historic house. The location is perfect, with lots of restaurants and commodities nearby. The waterfront is just outside the house. I just wish I could rate 6 out of 5 stars for the breakfast!!

Beautiful house, perfect location, astonishing breakfast 🥐

We had a beautiful stay at Vila old Marina. The location is so pretty and quaint which is exactly what we like. The area has some lovely places to eat and little mini markets close by to pick up drinks and snacks.

We loved lounging in the sun by and having a dip in the water which is beautifully clear.
The Vila has plenty of sunbeds by the water and tables and chairs to enjoy food and drinks.

Aleksandar was a great host and helped us with everything we needed! Thank you 🙏🏽

Beautiful stay

What a find! The host, Aleksandar could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. The house is great and has been on his family for generations and it's UNESCO protected. The rooms are reasonable size. My rooms offered ac and beautiful views of Kotor Bay. There was ample parking with spots in front of the House and close by.  Aleksandar offered advice on some great local dining options and on things to see locally. He also gave me some ideas on things to see in other cities I was traveling to within Montenegro. My stays (2) were great and I was even given a nice gift upon departure.  This place was first rate and I would gladly stay here again. Do yourself a favor and stay here if you're visiting the area. 


Fabulous accommodations on Kotor Bay

We stayed here for two nights. 

Clean rooms , well equipped, good wifi, great views to the waterfront , private parking and not too far from Kotor , Vrmac or other places. There are a bunch of bakeries and restaurants near by too.

We booked the room with sea view. We came by car (it  was already dark) and the street to the hotel was quite narrow and it took quite some time. The owner was kindly waiting for us and showed us to our room and indicated the parking place for the car. We enjoyed staying in that historic building and of course .... the view from the window! unfortunately we only stayed there for one night but this place needs to be enjoyed with calm. Next time we would spend several days there, have leisurely walks in the neighbourhood, take a dip in the water and enjoy the sun (there were tables and chairs right in front of the hotel). We definitely  recommend OldMariner guest house!

Amazing experience in a historic palace with abreathtaking view

We have been traveling through Montenegro staying in different locations and hotels. This hotel is by far the most authentic, relaxed and super cozy hotel you’ll find near Kotor. 

We got a nice room with a stunning view of the bay. Loved waking up to this. Just across the street you have the bay ready for a you to take a swim. Needless to say, we ended up booking an extra night before heading on. 

The owner was very friendly and helped us a lot with information and tips on what to see and do. Also, he make a delicious breakfast!

Next to the hotel you have to markets and a bakery. Also, you have two restaurants to choose from. 

If you want to rent SUP you’ll pay 20€ for a whole day. This is absolutely ridiculous cheap and a great way to explore the area. You are also able to rent bicycles, kayak etc. 

The busses to Kotor and Tivat is driving every hour until 22:00. We paid 1€ per person each way. You just wave to get the bus to stop. 



Best hotel 

If we have the chance to come back to kotor bay again, I would book the exact same guest house. The hotel is a very old building with a lot of charm. The owner Aleksander was very helpful and attentive to his guests, waiting until almost 11pm for us to arrive because we had been delayed by a storm in the mountain. This area is much calmer & prettier than the town of Kotor, and yet, so close to the old town. The owner told us the history of the building which has been in his family for 400 years. How they stored oil, and goods, showed us tricks on how they would defend the house from the pirates... The place is really special and in my opinion 100 times better than any of the brand new hotels which are being built everywhere along the Kotor Bay. There are a few very good restaurants (marija) that are walking distance from the old mariner which makes everything very convenient. Guests can also ask for a private parking spot. The view on the bay is fantastic and the rooms looking on the garden are equally gorgeous.  

Perfect stay in a hidden gem

If you are travelling to Kotor, please drive a couple of km more to visit this 400 years old fantastic villa. The view, the atmosphere, the breakfast, the water and last but not least the owner, Alexander are all worth the visit. We stayed in room 2 (of five!), a gigantic apartment with a view you’ve never seen. The garden where Alexander serves breakfast is stunning too. We really hope to return to this paradise on earth. 

A must!

We stayed all last week at Old Mariner Guest House and our stay has been great from beginning to end. The owner, Aleksandar, is very friendly, available and attentionate. 
We had booked a sea view room, and her view is magical every time on the Kotor fjord. 
The Villa Mariner is located in Prčanj, at 5 mns by car from Kotor, some very good restaurants are around and Kotor is very easily accessible also.
